I headed east on Terrel Road.
I found a few old cabins displaying the standard architecture.
Below is one was at the end of Terrel Road. A side view is below.
I headed back to Old 51 and then down another road which went down the hill  on which Chatawa sits.
Below is looking down into the Tangipohoa River Valley.
It returned to Old 51 which I took back to Chatawa.
I had seen  Kramer Lodge Road, the road nearest the  "tub" that had been mentioned by a reader. I took off on it and saw a road naming a lake go off to the left. I like lakes and had the time so I followed it to a "difficult looking" sink which I chose not to take. No complications needed. I headed back to the Lodge Road and followed it deeper into the woods. I came to a rock pile marking a propery entrance.
The road ended.  I took a couple of shots and left quietly. Below, the wall looks like the remnants of a cabin.  Was that where the "tub" was?
The mysterious tub turned out to be just a bathtub, the only remains of an old homestead. The "mysterious"  part was only local lore. The monster just a wild cat. Again, too much reality ruins a good story. It was a fun ride with great roads and beautiful scenery. Again Mississippi would come throght. Next will take you back to the Home Page.

Below is a note from a reader. I wish he had left his/her email address.

Dear Two Wheelin:  Out of pure curiosity I typed in Chatawa, Miss. on my computer just to see if it existed on the web.  Well what a shocker I received.  You see, I grew up in Chatawa.  Yes, I really did.  My parents built the house on the hill across from the lake at St. Mary's.  There are many tales I could relate to you in regards to monsters, snakes, black panthers and of course the claw footed tub which is still in the woods, but not around the lodge.  My father was Justice of the Peace and worked for St. Mary's.  Every Halloween, my brother's birthday, the girls from the school (St. Mary's used to be an all girls Catholic school) would hide out all over the area and all of us kids would walk the roads and get the <heck> scared out of us by them.  The old Bentz home that you showed is still inhabited by a very dear friend of our family, and yes, I even shopped at the Bentz store.  Just to let you know, there is a cave deep in the woods just north of the bridge by the well.  It is inhabited by some creature, too.  I love Chatawa and all the tales that go with it.  It is a truly amazing place.  One of the last frontiers on Earth.  My Home!  Email me some time and we can swap stories.  There are numerous people throughout the Chatawa area that will tell you what my nickname is - aka The Chatawa Monster!
