| How AIDS is spread | ||||||||
| AIDS is generally spread through bodily fluids, such as blood, breast milk or sexual bodily fluids like sperm. AIDS is also spread by: Sharing Needles: Sharing syringes (needles) is another way of getting AIDS. You can get AIDS from this form because needles go into your veins and blood is in your veins and when someone who has AIDS shares a needle with someone else it transfers immediatley to the other person. A way to prevent this is if your are a person who uses needles you should get new needles and only use a needle once. You should never share needles with anyone else even if you don't think they have AIDS. If your someone who works with needles such as a doctor or a tatoo artist you should never share needles with different customers. The best thing to do is to just use a needle once an throw it right away you should never take any chances. Having Sex: When you have unprotected sex, bodily parts are exposed to eachother. If a woman who is infected with AIDS has sex with a man she gives it to her male counterpartner through her vaginal fluids. If a man who is infected with AIDS and has sex with a woman he spreads AIDS to the woman with his sperm. If two men have sex they also exchange bodly fluids viceversa for two women having sex as well. Using a condom helps from spreading AIDS, but it is not 100% the only 100% way to not spread AIDS is ABSTINENCE! Mother to Child: When a mother is pregnant she can give AIDS to her child while the baby is being formed or while the baby is being born. While the baby is being formed the mother passes AIDS to her child through her blood. If the mother contracted the AIDS diesease after the baby was born she can also spread AIDS to her baby by breastfeeding. Blood to Blood Contact: AIDS can be spread to people by blood in many different ways. If you recieved blood that had AIDS from a clinic you can get AIDS that way. If you become "blood brothers/sisters" with someone who has AIDS you can contract AIDS in that manner. You can also contract the AIDS disease by kissing someone who has AIDS who has a cut on their lip or anyway that your blood touches someone elses blood that has AIDS. |
