Most Lego creators will find these links useful. These are non-paying links that I personally recommend
ML_Cad Website offers software that allows you to create custom professional looking instructions for all of your lego models using L-Draw parts list files. I highly recommend this software for keeping your inventions alive after disassembly. It's also a great way to test part fits, share inventions, etc. All of the instructions on my web page were created using this software. Thanks Mike for such a wonderful program.
RCX Command Center allows direct controll of the Lego RCX using your computer and joystick, and allows you to write and download program code into your Lego RCX using NQC, a special coding program for the RCX meaning "NOT QUITE C", similar to C or C+ programming. I highly reccomend this software for anyone into programming as it offers much more flexability and more variables and commands than the software provided with the LEGO MINDSTORMS ROBOTICS INVENTION SYSTEM.
Brick Link.com is an unofficial Lego marketplace that works sort of like ebay. Hundreds of users advertise their items in their stores for sale or trade. If you are looking for a particular part you are likely to find it here unless it's so new nobody has it yet. Use the catalog or search to look for parts by category then scroll through the results to find the seller with the best price. I've gotten great service from these places. (Good place to buy those universal joints that keep breaking all the time).
