La Luciérnaga has performed during year 2001, at the major
Seattle Tango events: "The Summer Tango Ball" at Century Ballroom, twice
at "The Tango Cabaret Night" at China Harbor in April and September 2001,
twice at the Folklife Festival 2001 and 2002, at the "Twelve Minute Max"
at On The Boards Studio Theatre (Seattle), at the "Tacoma Luminocity Festival
2002", at the Seattle Art Museum, Olympia's Traditions Cafe, and plays regularly
at local venues like Kismet Pub, Bitter's, Ancient Grounds, Nonna Maria,
the Saffron Cow, The Ballard Firehouse, Julia's on Broadway, Dulces Latin
Bistro, Eva Restaurant. It also performs live music for local Milongas
(term that stands for "social Tango dancing party" in spanish). La Luciérnaga has enjoyed the colaboration with guest musicians and dancers for especial projects: bandoneón player Bertram Levy and violinist Claude Ginsburg from the Seattle City Sextet, argentine pianist Claudio Méndez, flamenco singer and dancer Rubina Carmona from Carmona Flamenco, flamenco dancer Christine Lynn, tango dancers Marcelo Varela and Analia Vega, Valeria and Pampa Cortez, Michelle Badion and Evan Wallace, Patricia and Gabriela Milillo, guitar player Gerald Beaton, and percusionist Michael Strunk. |
