NATIONAL PTA MISSION

The mission of the National PTA is three-fold:


*To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools and before       governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;

*To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children;and

*To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

The last mission statement is so important for our children here at Lalor School. The value of parent involvement has been thoroughly studied and research indicates that:


1. �the family is critical to the success in school�,and

2. �an involved parent can provide the boost to a child�s self-esteem that will lead to a greater success in school and a more fulfilling and accomplished adulthood�.*

Become involved with the success of your child. Attend the �PTA Back-to-School-Night�, special school functions,parent-teacher conferences, and PTA meetings. Volunteer as a class mother or father. Help chaperone a Field trip.

You are a crucial part of the total educational experience at Lalor School.
