Charles Lindberg made the first nonstop solo flight of 3,610 miles from New York to Paris in his plane  " The Spirit of St.Louis

The first transatlantic telephone calls were available to the public-3 minutes cost $75 from London to New York.

Television was first demonstrated to the public but development was delayed two decades.

The Jazz Singer starring Al Jolson was the first successful talking picture.

Babe Ruth set a new record of 60 home runs.

The richest man in America was Al Capone, income $105 million.

Kool Aid was introduced.

Velvetta,Butterfinger, Peter Pan peanut butter and Rice Krispies were introduced in 1928.

In the 1920's labor saving devices to make cooking easier for women became available such as, stainless steel knives, toasters, refrigerators, and gas stoves.

New models of cars were being introduced.

Soon you would be able to buy presliced bread and Birdseye frozen vegetables.

Popular dishes of the decade were jello and spaghetti and meatballs.

Cheesecake was perfected by New York deli's.

In 1928 The Oxford English Dictionary appeared.

In 1928 Herbert Hoover became the 31st President of the United States.
