THAYIRVADAI:
Urad dal=3/4cup
Green Chilli=4
Ginger=1/2 inch piece
Shredded Coconut=3tbs
Cumin seeds=1tsp
Curd=2cups
Coriander leaves=3tbs
Grated carrot=3tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for frying
Soak the dal for 3hrs.
Grind the coconut,cumin seeds and green chillies into a thick paste.
Then add a tsp of oil in a heated pan add mustard seeds.
When it splutters, add the coconut mixture,curd and salt and boil it for a
few minutes.Then pour this mixture in a big bowl.
Add 2 green chillies, salt, dal in
a blender.Grind the mixture to a thick paste.
Take a ball of this mixture and place it on a wet hand
and pat it to flatten it a little and make a small hole in the
middle and drop it carefully in the hot oil.
Fry this till it becomes light yellow.
Drain off the excess oil and drop the vadai
in a bowl of water and after a few seconds
remove it from the water and add it to the curd mixture.
Garnish it with coriander leaves and grated carrot.
