Fraulein Schneider
She's stubborn!
'Life goes on if we're here or not'--Her philosophy
She would rather be secure than adrift.
Fraulein Schneider was rich in her early days, but now her wealth is gone--she won't say how. Now she operates a boardinghouse on the Nollendorfplatz in Berlin. Sally, Cliff, Schultz, and Fraulein Kost live there, so she can keep an eye on everybody. She's a stubborn woman who simply wants to make a living. Her philosophy is 'So what?'. Life goes on, and that's all there is to it.  Recently though, Schneider has found a love in Herr Schultz, the Jewish fruit seller, and the couple had an engagement party. But at the party, she discovered that the policies of a rising political party stand in their way. She's friends with Sally, Cliff, and especially Herr Schultz. She tolerates Fraulein Kost.

She's played here by Mary Louise Wilson.
