Kareem Abdul Jabbar was born,
Lewis Alcindor on April 16th, 1947 in New York, N.Y. Kareem's career can be
summed up as one of being sustained brilliance. Throughout his long 20 year
career, he dominated the game of basketball. He holds all-time records for both
scoring, rebounding and shot-blocking. Although Kareem grew up in New York
City, he attended school in UCLA. There Kareem led bruins had a stanglehold on
college basketball. In his three season the Bruins won three straight NCAA
championships and had an amazing 88-2 record. Kareem was named the MVP of the
NCAA tournament and College player of the year for all the three years. He was
drafted by the Milwakee Bucks, and in his first season he won Rookie of the
Year, scoring 29 points and grabbing 15 boards. Kareem played five years with
Oscar Robertson and the Bucks, where he won a NBA Title (1971) and three
NBA�MVP awards (1971, 1972, 1874). Kareem was traded to the Lakers before
