Father (Garret Fostin): His wife died having Linna, then Jane. He began courting his current wife when Linna was ten, and she took it very hard, throwing tauntrums and screaming, not wanting a mother. She thought it was a betrayal to her mother, who died because of her. When she was thirteen, Garret got married. She hated him for it, and even when she got older and understood it better, she was in the habit of hating him.
Step-mother(Linore Fostin): Linore brought in extra money when she married Garret. Linore also started to run the family, Garret controlling the money. She saw Linna as young, unpredictable, and rough, and set about doing her best to change Linna, making Linna extremely rebellious. The family didn't have near enough money to send her to a convent, but Linore had connections at a temple, and planned to send Linna there when she got caught stealing from a baker's stall in the market.
Sister(Bettsy Fostin): Linna resented the attention Bettsy always got, being the oldest girl, and so much more pretty, refined, and liked. Bettsy liked to boss Linna around, and to Linna it seemed her parents always sided with Bettsy. Bettsy sees Linna as an embarrassment to the good Fostin name.
Brother(Brint Fostin): Brint and Bettsy were always very close, and most of the time Linna was jealous, the twins viewed her as a nuisance and excluded her from their lives for the most part. Brint was apprenticed to a smith when Linna last saw him.
Appearance: Sandy brown hair, tallish, brown eyes, hair is a bit longer than shoulder-length. Skin is fair, she has no freckles. Her facial features are regular, isn't any great beauty, but fairly passable. She exudes a sense of great confidence, which makes her seem pretty, even when she isn't.
Clothing: She normally wears skirts or dresses, but wears breeches and a shirt when working, when skirts would get in the way.
Personality: Linna seems friendly and charming on the outside, but those who get to know her beyond that might think she's shallow, and the few who get to know her much beyond that can see that she has a good heart under it all, but is in life to save her own rear end. Linna will do almost anything to get what she wants, willing to go to great lengths to achieve her goals. She likes to be able to control things, especially people. Linna will betray, lie, and do just about anything to suit her personal needs, but she doesn't like it when her actions go public, and is revealed as a liar or cheat. When she is, she won't appear in the place where it happened for a month or so, and if it's huge, isn't below moving to a completely different area.
Linna's moral values are very loose. She likes the feeling of power that comes from being able to influence other peoples reactions. As a result, she is a shameless flirt, and will go far with men, even when she doesn't love them. She has never truely opened up her heart to any man, and doesn't plan to anytime soon.
Linna has a temper, and a big one at that. She can control it, but only when she's convinced herself she's above getting angry during the situtation, or she knows she'll get even in the end. Once she has a grudge, she rarely lets go of it. Linna likes to know that she's even and fair with the world.
Strengths:She doesn't let herself get caught up in little things. She knows when she makes mistakes, and does her best to make them right, that is, if she cares enough, otherwise she'll let things slide. Linna is ruthless, and knows what she wants and (most of the time) how to get it.
Weaknesses: Linna seems to not really feel. Or at least not in a positive way...her emotions seem to mostly consist of jealousy, anger, and revenge. Her mind is quick, but it mostly plots ways to better her position in the world.
History: When she was thirteen, her father remarried, and she's never been close to her family since then. She took to the streets more and more, even though her family were respectable merchants, Jane considered them boring and useless. Sometimes, she wouldn't come home at night, but got beaten for it when she finally reappeared. When this happened, she would steal to sustain herself. Once she got caught at it, after stealing a noble's purse. When the Provost returned her to her family, they were given a fine for her actions, and her step-mother decided to send her to a temple to make her a priestess. She left their house that night, and went to street life, surviving for a while that way. She got close to a small gang of Rats, the leader being one called Brick Warner, around her age, a year or so older, with about five others, give or take one depending on the time. During a small gang war, Brick was injured and got an infection, dying soon after. That's when Jane Fostin changed her name to Linna Warner, being fifteen then.
Linna left Lower Corus after that for the surrounding countryside, following roads at random. She lasted a day or so before running out of whatever food and water she had thought to bring, so took on work at the nearest wayhouse. She worked as Linna Warner, and since the town was small, there were those who were knew how to live off of the land. They asked for coin in return for the skills and information they gave her, but Linna couldn't name a better thing to spend her money on. She learned how to make make a bow and hunt, as well as how to find shelter and water. When Linna thought she had learned enough, she left work at the wayhouse and lived in the woods around the capital city for a while, traveling up to Scanra a few times. After a year or so, when she was seventeen, she got lonely in the wilderness, and made her way to Corus. She got a job in Lower Corus as a barmaid at an inn, and also lived there. She saved her coins, and was able to move to a different inn later, and got work there as well because of her experience.
What is your character most ashamed of? Linna is most ashamed of her family, which is why when people ask about them, she says they died from sickness. She does a good face when the subject comes up, making it stony, and her eyes hard. If someone knew they weren't dead, they would think her emotion was fake, but she actually does hurt to think about her family, and that they didn't love her.
What makes your character unique?Linna is willing to do anything to get where she wants to be, short of permanently mutilating herself.
Why is your character coming to the Inn? To meet new people. Linna thinks the more people she knows
