Before Lita met the other Sailors, her classmates generally feared her and people considered her a bully. However, being alone all the time made her lonely, so she was very surprised when Usagi wanted to become friends with her. After Lita met the girls she tended to be nice most of the time, but if someone threatens her friends she turns violent. Lita is also a little more independent then the girls when she's having a problem she tends to go off by herself to figure it out, instead of getting help from her friends. Lita also really respects Haruka, although a few of the girls misinterpreted her "respect" Lita is really good at pretty much all sports, although she doesn't display her abilities that often. She also has a black belt, because during an episode when she wanted to re-train herself she was wearing a black belt and a karate uniform. Lita is in many ways the strongest of the Scouts, and a formidable fighter even when not transformed into Sailor Jupiter. Jupiter is often the first to attack in a battle, always preferring the direct approach: blasting anything that gets in her way! She often teams up with Venus to defend the other Scouts.
Her Japanese name, Makoto gives
a good indication of her personality: it means truth, honesty or
loyalty. She has been known to stand up for Sailor Moon against
Mars. Aside from martial arts, her hobbies are fairly peaceful:
she enjoys cooking and gardening, and dreams of owning her own
restaurant.
When she first appeared, Lita was going through
a serious boy-crazy phase. Her signature line on spotting cute
guys was the inevitable "He looks just like my old
boyfriend!". However, even a mutual crush on Andrew didn't
ruin her friendship with Serena. She seems to have gotten over
this stage in later seasons, although she has brief crushes on
Alan and the Moonlight Knight. Jupiter made an impressive
entrance, first trashing a trio of bullies who were trying to
beat up Serena, then landing a punch on Zoycite, and finally
clobbering the first of the rainbow-crystal bearers in his Shadow
Warrior form. Jupiter's power comes from lightening: from her
normal thunderbolts to her dragon of pure electricity.
She first appeared in episode 25 in the Japanese version and episode
21 in the North American version. Kino Makoto appeared after she
was kicked out of her old school for violence. Everyone avoided
her at first, except for Usagi (Serena/Sailor Moon) who was
interested in Mako's lunch. Usagi found out what a great person
Mako was and invited her to play video games with her after
school. At the Crown Game Centre, Usagi introduced Mako to Rei
(Sailor Mars), Ami (Sailor Mercury), and Furhata Motoki (Andrew).
Mako fell in love with Motoki. Later when Sailor Moon was
fighting a yoma, Mako jumped in and helped her without knowing
that she herself was a Senshi. The symbol of Jupiter glowed on
her forehead and Luna found another Senshi. Together, Sailor
Jupiter and Sailor Moon dusted the yoma.

Lita is the most mature, and practical scout. She prefers to go
with the flow rather than fight her friends. Maybe this is
because she lives alone (her parents died in a plane crash),
she's also really tough and often gets into fights. Lita thinks
all cute guys look just like her old boyfriend. She is the
tallest inner scout, and she's afraid of flying, for obvious
reasons.
On the Moon Kingdom Lita used to go out with Nephrite who was one
of Mamorou's protectors.
