- Under the Rehabilitation Council of India Act, 1992, S. Lakshmanan is a Registered Psychologist in India.
- He served as Counselor cum Project Officer in NEHRU YUVA KENDRA-PONDICHERRY which is one of the Government of India organization. Then he served as Project Manager in Youth Leadership and Personality Development Project in this same Organization
- He served as Guest Lecturer in Psychology in various Colleges like Sree Venkateshwaraa College of Physiotherapy, Ariyur, Pondicherry, Indirani College of Nursing, Ariyur, Pondicherry, Sabrai College of Nursing, Kirumampakkam, Pondicherry, A.G.Padmavadi Nursing College, Pondicherry and Raak Nursing College, Pondicherry.
- His Qualification: M.Phil(Psy)., M.A.(Psy)., PGDBA (Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration), Diploma in Law
- He is also a Author of three Psychological books and three Philosophical books in Tamil language
- He developed eleven window based Computer programme and issued eleven CDS. In these CDs, ten CDs are related with psychology and one for autobiography of Prof. Sundara Shanmuganar in Puducherry.
