Ghana, 2nd: The Bradt Travel Guide
By Philip Briggs

  • $18.95
  • Publisher: Bradt Travel Guides

This is absolutely the best guide book for traveling to Ghana. I don't know how I would have gotten around without it. The Bradt guide covers all the regions of Ghana intensively with clear descriptions of transportation, accommodation, where to eat, etc. What makes this book stand out from the rest are the maps of small towns and villages that are detailed and very accurate. With its tips on bargaining, prices, and cultural advice you can easily just step off the plane and plan your vacation straight from this book. I found while traveling around that my fellow travelers were constantly borrowing my copy. Even when I was in way out areas I was able to whip out my book and find places to eat and sleep. I highly recommend this book for anyone who's planning a trip to Ghana, and especially if your trip is away from tourist areas. (***** Stars)

Let's Go Ghana : A Visitors Guide to Business Opportunities, Networking and Tourism in Ghana
By Kwasi Bosompem

  • $10.00
  • Publisher: Kwasi Bosompem Press

This book mostly focuses on someone making a business or working trip and the author has loads of information on how business is conducted in Ghana and how a foreigner should prepare for such a trip. This book even includes phone numbers to hotels and agencies, where to stay and eat in the capital, and dress code and social conduct. Perfect for a business trip but not for a tourist. (**** Stars)

The African-American Travel Guide: To Hot, Exotic, and Fun-Filled Places
By Jon Haggins

  • $14.95
  • Publisher: Amber Books

I found Jon Haggins' book to be VERY informative on preparations to West Africa and other places, but not on the actual destinations. This book is excellent for tour groups and for people who strictly want to stick with the tourist sites. Some of the information written in this book about Ghana I found to be incorrect so I would only used this as a checklist for what you need when you travel. (*** Stars)
