Detailed Description:

  Physical-
Short, standing 5 feet even.  His body has a broad chest, muscular arms, slim legs and hips.  He has brown hair bleached almost blond by the sun and salty seas, which is worn cropped very short.  Jackif's eyes are medium to dark blue, according to his emotional state and intense in their gaze.  They deepen in color as he feels joy and become slightly paler when he is in pain.  His hands are toughened by years of hard work with numberous scars from line and fin cuts.   One forefinger has a bump on it from having been broken.  Jackif's face is sturdy, square jawed with laughlines bracketing his eyes.  The nose is of average size and is only distinquished by the slight crook in it from having a boom hit him in the face.  He wears light colored clothing, perhaps because the sun and sea always faded anything he wore on board ship.

  Emotional-
Although he is easy to talk with, Jackif has trouble believing in others.  For him everything is black or white, no gray areas.  So when a person says 'I'm your friend' then they should be his friend and not turn away two days later.  So it is he can't give a commitment to someone he isn't certain about.  The one person he is certain about is himself.

Brief History:
Born on board ship, Jackif has known the life of a fisherman since birth.  The waves of the sea rocked him to sleep in his cradle.  As he grew Jackif began to wonder about the landbound people.  When he was five turns he got his first lesson in the difference between truth and lies.  A dock boy had a toy that Jackif thought was so wonderful.  It rolled, on wheels.  With his father's blessings, Jackif bartered one of the finer fish his ship had caught for the toy.  Dockboy took the fish and ran off with both fish and toy.  When Jackif's father explained that the dock boy's family was probably hungry, Jackif replied, "But it was wrong."  The young Jackif never trusted anyone in a barter again.

When he was 12 turns, Jackif felt he was worldwise.  He could barter with the best of the landbound folks.  And didn't believe in releasing a catch without payment up front.  He had reached his full height by then and knew in his heart he would always be short.  Being short meant that people thought they could take advantage of him.  And that made him more wary of in his dealings.  Bullies found him an easy target, but they soon found out this tiny youth could fight, and was stronger then he looked.

At 16 turns Jackif discovered girls.  Only the girls wanted the taller boys, not a short thin youth like him.  So it was he discovered another truth.  Love hurt.
