There really are no rules for piping at Weddings. Each Wedding is unique insofar as the Bride & family decide on the structure of the event. There are, however, some typical places in the ceremony where piping is often performed.
As the Wedding party enters. Usually a stately processional tune played until the party is in place at the front of the church.
Processional as the Bride comes up the aisle
During Communion
Lighting of the Unity Candle Recessional as the Bride & Groom go down the aisle
Outside the Church as families & guests exit
Occassionally piping is requested prior to the service as family and guests arrive. This is nice if you do not plan to have piping during the service. If you want to have the Bride piped in, the majestic effect of the Bridal processional is maximized if there is no piping prior to that moment.
