International Speech Contest Information

         

To compete in the International Speech Contest the contestant needs to be a Lake Oswego Toastmasters Club Member in good standing.   In addition, the contestant must of already completed six speeches from the Basic Manual.

 

The speech for the speech contest can be on any subject the contestant desires.  The timing on the speech is five to seven minutes.  That means the contestant is within time if the speech is between 4:30 and 7:30 in length.  Speeches that are outside that range are disqualified.

 

          As in other speech contests, the judges give numerical rankings to the contestants.  The numerical rankings for the International Speech Contest are based on the following criteria.
