Man-at-Arms (Master Squire) - a heavily armed soldier of medieval times. After
one year at the position of Squire, the candidate is now allowed to choose and pursue the
skills of a secondary profession (ie. court herald, household marshal, sergeant of arms,
paladin, etc.) while completing his training in the 7 promises of a Promise Keeper and
continuing to serve his sponsoring knight. At this level, the squire will also begin
training in the spiritual disciplines in preparation for the leadership of knighthood when
he will be given a squire (and pages) to disciple.
1. Be at least 17 years of age and/or 11th grade. (High School Junior)
2. Attain the level of Squire by completing and continuing the above qualifications.
3. Must have attained a minimum of 2 of the Squire achievement ribbons.
(Red-Salvation & White-Purity) through the study of the 7 promises of a Promise Keeper.
4. Acquire a shield and basic armor, including helmet for combat.
5. Demonstrate proficiency in leatherworking and tailoring by completing a minimum of
one page�s tunic of his sponsors colors and making 1 leather accessory (ie. pouch,
scabbard, belt etc.)
6. Participate in at least 3 formal tournaments, either within the household or nationally.
7. Provide one form of entertainment at no less than 1 banquets. (ie. sing or recite a
verse of ancient writ; play a midieval instrument etc.)
8. Demonstrate excellence in service by overseeing the care of the sponsoring knight and
his lady at at least 2 banquets.
9. Memorize the Master Squire Scripture (Ephesians 6:10-18)
10. Demonstrate basic understanding of Court Heraldry.
