The house (1300 sq ft) is a chalet style "A" frame model built 45
feet from the water. The house has a walk-out basement, a main floor,
and a loft. A stone
fireplace is on the main floor. The house is so close to the lake that
it gives the impression you are directly living above the water, since
you can not see the grass in the yard when looking out from the "A"
frame prowl on the main floor.
A red granite walking path leads from the house to the pier.
The elevation is gradual, with 3 steps leading down the walking path to
the pier
and 8 steps down the pier to the water.
Lake Kawaga
Lake Kawaga is part of the famous Minocqua chain. Lake Kawaga is an
excellent fishing lake, with fishing tournaments held on the lake
annually. One large island (Big Ripley Island) sits across from the house and two other
smaller islands exist on the lake.
The lake is also excellent for water skiing (a slalom course is
set up near Camp Kawaga), jet skiing, and general boating. Fishing
boats, jet skis, and pontoon boats can be rented in Minocqua and docked
at the pier.
Celebrities such as Elizabeth Taylor, Richard Marx,
and Bill Murray have been known to stay in the Mincoqua
area. President
Dwight D. Eisenhower was known to have fished many times
on these chain of lakes.
The Minocqua chain of lakes offers superb
fishing opportunities-just ask Brett Favre.
