You glance up at the sky, utterly enthralled by the colours that splash elegantly across the horizon. Sitting down on a rocky ledge, you watch as the sun creeps down into the distance, sleeping for now, and allowing night to come forth.
In the twilight, you notice a shape fluttering slowly across the sky, carefree and seemingly akin with the clouds themselves. As it swoops closer, you notice the brightly coloured wings, and more specific features on the creature. It lands unceremoniously on your lap, and you gasp in shock as it stares at you. It is still a young baby, scarcely a year old. It nuzzles you, and you hold the young animal close, still not quite sure what form of beast it is.
"What's your name?" you ask.
"Twilight," the baby answers casually. "Daughter of Cherish and Obsidian."
You smile and hug it close, and it returns the gesture. |
