~~~~~~~~~~~~ ESPERS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CONTENTS Lussion Soloa Pokeet Stabeet Swishkebab Enochian Icthynaut Flamanko Leopisces Lipsnap Watchly Gazer Barkhest ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LUSSION Lussion are the bane of small mountain villages. Adapted for cold, snowy weather, and malicious by nature, the evolution of Absol is often blamed for avalanches and other maladies, including cabin fever. In some rural areas, it is considered a direct threat to put a feather from a Lussion's ear on someone's doorstep. Lussion, next to grimer and muk, are some of the dirtiest pokemon alive. Although they look clean, they are magnets for llice, bacteria, and viruses. Most parasites find safe keeping in the feathers of a Lussion ear. Lussion very rarely get sick due to their over-developed livers and amazing immune system. Lussion compare favorably to Sharpedo in terms of immunity. So, even when crawling with a host of diseases, a Lussion can remain perfectly healthy inside. Scientists owe this to Lussion's secondary Poison type. Murkrow have a natural hatred of Lussion, as the pokemon's mere presence contaminates old kills with deadly bacteria. Lussion often use Toxic on carcasses to spite the scavengers. Lussion hunt by biting the prey on the leg and following it until the prey succumbs to illness or poison. Social structure of Lussion...Dominance gained by those with bigger ears. Females go for big ears too. They're mostly loners, as Lussion are quite rare due to evolution circumstances. Lussion hang out with Absol, often spearheading a small gang of delinquents. There are no real physical differences between females and males of the species. Dominance always relies on whoever has the biggest ear. As for fighting...Only two trainers have ever caught Lussion, and both died by viral infections before they could figure out the stats or moves of their catches. Humans don't know this, but evolution involves three factors. The first is the Absol's state of mind--they must be detached from the world. The second is overall diet--mostly poison and dark types give it the minerals it needs to make the evolutionary jump. And third is a single heinous crime, an act of sheer evil. Upon completing the crime, whatever it is, the absol will evolve into Lussion. Pokedex entry: LUSSION Plague Pokemon Type1/Dark Type2/Poison Description: Considered the least lucky of all pokemon. Very little is known about them except that they are vicious and live in lonely mountain ranges. Move list: Does not vary from absol with the exception of learning Toxic after Perish Song. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SOLOA A curious pokemon in the shape of a half-eaten fish. It has red eyes that are blind from looking in the sun for too long. The markings on its face, supposedly, can tell you what kind of pokemon the Soloa was before it succumbed to the ocean, although this rumor is up for debate. Anyway, Soloa doesn't make its own noises. It just echoes the sounds it hears around it...this is how they earned their nicknames of the Secret Breakers, as they repeat anything and everything, even the stuff best kept under wraps. How to get a Soloa: Drown a live pokemon, preferably in the ocean or another large body of water. Best done during a dark, stormy night. Why Soloa aren't found above water: A few seconds after they leave the water, they metamorphose into Gastly. That's why. :P (since dry air cannot support their clunky bodies in that particular shape) Once a Soloa becomes a Gastly, that's it. It can't go back to being a Soloa no matter how many times it douses itself in water. Soloa meat is quite rare and expensive, but world-renowned for its velvety feel and subtle taste. Often served in a bowl of rose water, and eaten quickly, for if the meat is exposed to air for more than a few seconds it evaporates into ectoplasmic matter. "Truly, this fish is so good, it melts in your mouth!" Soloa's place in the ecosystem: Sunfish. SOLOA Sunfish pokemon Type1/Water Type2/Ghost Description: This ocean-going phantom is the spirit of a pokemon lost at sea. It is doomed to forever follow the sun until it disintegrates from too much solar exposure. Height and weight depend on how long the Soloa has been around. Older Soloa are larger and lighter due to the sunlight stretching them apart. Younger Soloa are more dense, thus better for eating, but smaller in stature. :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ POKEET Poking Pokemon Type1/Water True to its name, this reckless little fish will poke anything within reach of its tiny horn. When the Pokeet first emerges from its egg, its horn is very soft and bendy. It builds the strength of its horn by trying it against various surfaces, such as rocks, corals, sand, and other fish. Sometimes even boats and bits of metal when they reach one year old. The most curious thing about the Pokeet is its ability to squirm on land for a brief amount of time. You see, this little fish has a pair of primordial lungs stashed in its cheeks. longest time spent by a pokeet out of water...about twelve minutes. Sometimes they get stranded if the tide goes out and die of dehydration x.x The Pokeet's amphibiousness helps it poke things and then make a quick, clean getaway onto dry land. Unufortunately, it loses the lungs upon evolution into its next form... Eats algae, kelp, and sometimes poked fish (provided they are small enough to fit in the pokeet's mouth). Capture of these small fish is discouraged, but their meat is white and tender. AND ILLEGAL. Often sold in underground markets. That sort of thing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STABEET Swordfish Pokemon Type1/Water Type2/Steel This evolution of Pokeet is daring and deadly. The Pokeet's lungs disappear upon evolution to Stabeet, but that's ok since Stabeet is considerably more able to defend itself than Pokeet! The teal horn on the Stabeet's is infused with copper, making it much stronger than the simple keratin from previous form. This metal also gives the Stabeet its second type. For some reason. *cough* The Stabeet is quick to attack, but not very versatile. It prefers open ocean, where it can swim around without fear of breaking off its horn on coral or shoreline rocks. Stabeet tends to swim in medium to deeper depths. Fishing of Stabeet is also illegal, but that doesn't stop many sport fishermen. Stabeet is a challenging catch to begin with, since its favorite food is goldeen but it only eats a little bit at a time. The stomach of this fish is very small, and the Stabeet itself is hyper as a hummingbird. It must eat constantly or faint of hunger! Stabeet has any number of teal dots on its side. The more dots it has, the longer it is. Only a few Stabeet exist in the hands of Trainers, because, with their uselessness on land and hyperactive stomachs, they are tedious to care for, much less train. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SWISHKEBAB Fightfish Pokemon Type1/Water Type2/Steel Swishkebab is considered the king of sportfish pokemon. Not only is it considerably safer to fish than gyrados, it has a lot of meat that is very good to eat after ten minutes of pounding with a crabhammer and seven hours of cooking. It's full of iron! Each of Swishkebab's tiny scales glitter with iron and steel. Before preparation for eating, these scales must be scraped away with a diamond-tipped knife. These scales can be melted, and often show up in rings and bracelets. The true purpose of the scales, of course, is to provide an impenetrable shield against attackers. The Swishkebab haunts a 40m by 40m sphere in the deeper part of the ocean for most of its adult life. All intruders are gored on sight. After mating, both parents kill each other for invading each other's territory. Swishkebabs are so punnily named since they are usually seen with dead fish hanging from their sparring horns. Having a swishkebab is well worth the trouble of training stabeet, though few trainers will ever know. Only catch and train a swishkebab if you happen to have a large pool for battling in. Then the swishkebab can show off its lovely agility, awesome attack power, and ferocious moveset without any problem at all. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ENOCHIAN Angelfish Pokemon Type1/Water Type2/Normal Adorable, plump white fish that is considered the chansey or clefairy of the seas. Has meat that resembles gumdrops in taste and texture ^_^. They like to eat coral polyps and shrimp larvae. Generally sweet-natured, quiet fish. They learn gentle moves such as Recover, Soft Boil, Heal Bell, Sing, and Explode. Wait. Explode? How'd that move get in there? So, not only do they heal others, they also sacrifice themselves with Explode. Truly selfless fish indeed. No wonder golden haloes encircle their dorsal fin! One might think those haloes attract predators galore, except most experienced predators treat Enochians like bombs...very gently, and from very far away. There are more than enough sharpedo with deformed snouts due to approaching these little fish. Pairing an Enochian with a Pokeet would be downright stupid, too. Enochians are generally taken for granted by other fish, or ignored, except in times of great need. They aren't considered rare, but they are a bit tricky to find, being smaller than the average magikarp. The rich like to keep Enochians in tanks or fishbowls...bulletproof tanks or fishbowls, of course. POKEDEX ENTRY: Small, unobtrusive fish that enjoys helping others. It is said that the idea for ocean mines came from these fish. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ICTHYNAUT Hunter Pokemon Type1/Water Type2/Rock Yes, it's another prehistoric pokemon. This one takes after the Ichthyosaur. That means it's somewhat mammalian, and distantly related to Wailord. Very, very distantly. Icthynaut is a sizeable beast, sometimes as long as a lapras but never as high from belly to dorsal fin. It has a long, narrow snout full of small sharp teeth. This allows it to occasionally snatch prey from shorelines, although it mostly feasts on fish or unsuspecting wailmer, far out in the deep. Actually, I should be writing about the Icthynaut in the past tense, since it went extinct long ago. However, it left behind Helmet Fossils, so it is possible for scientists to ressurrect this oceanic terror, provided they have the time and energy to do so. And, at least in the Pokemon world, that's always the case. :P Height: 4'3'' Weight: 423.1 lbs Breeding Types: Monster/fish ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FLAMANKO Dancer Pokemon Type1/Water Flamanko is a most hypnotic type of slug, from the wavelike fashion that it moves through the water. It's often likened to lava lamps, and its nickname is Spanish Dancer. This aquatic creature definitely does not make good eating, unless you're fond of tasteless, dry, rubbery stuff in your mouth? Anyway, Flamanko only learns Splash, Flail, Tail Whip, and Bubble. Not very useful for battle, but extremely useful for dancing and showing off for prospective mates. Flamanko are asexual and social. They can take any other Flamanko as a partner, but they cannot reproduce with any other pokemon outside their own kind. The Flamanko leads a beautiful, simplistic life of nibbling on algae and perfecting its dances. When it is time for it to die, it will leave the safety of its ocean-shelf habitat and go deep into the ocean to perish. That way, the last any of its relatives will see of it is its dance, so that the memory of motion will never fade away. Breeding Types: Flamanko Length: 2'3'' Weight: 2.6 lbs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LEOPISCES Type1/Water Type2/Poison With fins tipped by the 2nd most deadly venom in the world, the Leopisces sports a personality just as wild as its ornaments. This fish has been known to actually growl under the water. Although surprisingly docile, it will attack relentlessly if provoked. Well-known for swimming on its side and upside-down, for no apparent reason other than a change of pace. Leopisces stuns other fish with its poison and then eats them from the outside, while the venom eats through the fish from the inside. A very disgusting way to die, to be sure, but it works like a charm. Mating rituals include typical spine-shuffling and swimming maneuvers, with both adults surviving, usually, two to three matings a year. No. Don't even think about eating this one. Breeding Types: Fish Height (belly to tip of dorsal fin): 1'2'' Weight: 6.9 lbs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ LIPSNAP Vent Pokemon Type1/Water Type2/Fire Lipsnap only exists in the deepest waters. It feeds by attracting millions of bacteria through the lipstick-shaped tube on its back. Hot water boils out of this tube, as well as bubbles, which draws in the heat-loving bacteriae. Lipsnap also sustains its diet by snagging anything it can find with its claws and pushing it into its toothy mouth. Lipsnap rarely move, due to the density of the deep ocean. They congregate around oceanic volcanoes and usually stay near one crater for all of their life, drawing in its heat to survive. Although they do not know any true fire-type moves, Lipsnaps charge their water-type moves with a blast of heat, making them quite deadly to those who dwell in the freezing ocean depths. Lipsnaps are mostly shell, and thus not good to eat. They mate by laying eggs directly in oceanic volcanoes. Height: 6'7'' Weight: 20.3 lbs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Species name: Watchly The Watchdog Pokemon Type 1/ Ghost Type2/ Steel Height: Depends on the length of its chain. The ghost itself is 1 foot even. Weight: Depends on the length of its chain, as the ghost weighs nothing. General Pokedex data: The ultimate in burglary protection, this untrickable pokemon is trustworthy and dependable, as it will stay put wherever its weight is set. Description (Drawing coming soon): Little ectoplasmic blob of swirly blues and purples and blacks, offset by a bright white grin and little glowy, pupiless eyes. It tapers down, and there it is tied much like a ghostly handkerchief around a heavy iron chain. Created by attaching a Gastly to any sort of metal object, though a chain is ucually favored for its relative portability. (This is done with several ceremonial procedures that can be described, if I am asked to describe them.) Discovered by: Espers Breeding group: None. replaces in ecosystem: Cwn Annwn ('coon annun'--mythological Celtic fae dogs) Eats: Nothing. Social structure: Solitary, though sometimes set up in pairs to doube insurance against theft. habbitat: Front porches or within manors...Generally kept outside to deter burglars. Mostly around human habitation, sometimes found in ruins where ancestorial people placed them to guard legendary treasure. Rarity: Quite common, actually, especially around rich people and Lavendar Town. Brief comment: Cannot possess other beings or pass through solid objects. Breeding method: None. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Species name: Gazer No: ???+1 The Alarm Pokemon Type 1/ Ghost Type2/Steel Height: 4 foot 8 inches Weight: Depends on its chains. General Pokedex data: Since the Gazer's hands can be moved around, a person will often set up its body in one location while setting its hands in two other places. The Gazer is thus able to keep tabs over up to three secret locations at once. Where Watchlies have annoying high-pitched barks, the Gazer alerts its master to the presence of an intruder with a long, drawn out moan. In order to evolve, it must have spare chains for the hands to attach to. It can also be created by fixing a Haunter to three different weights, but this prevents further evolution of the Haunter/Gazer to either Gengar or Barkhest. (Picture coming soon.) Discovered by: Espers Breeding group: None replaces in ecosystem: Cwn Annwyn. Eats: Nothing. Social structure: Solitary habbitat: Human homes and old ruins. Also seen guarding top-secret research facilities. Rarity: Uncommon Brief comment: Cannot possess other beings or pass through solid objects Breeding method: None ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Species name: Barkhest No: ???+2 The Alarming Pokemon Type 1/ Ghost Type2/ Steel Height: 5 feet 6 inches, length can be up to twelve feet if its chains are long enough. Weight: usually over 100 pounds, due to all its chains. General Pokedex data: Villagers, run inside and hide when you see the sillhouettes of chains marvelously dancing by themselves upon a hill. It is a Barkhest, and, despite not being able to pass through solid objects on their own, they will try to do so anyway--often rupturing buildings and living things beyond repair. Evolves by leveling up. No items or such are necessary...though the Barkhest MUST have started from the Watchly form, or else the Gazer won't evolve. Looks like an ethereal dog, with a skeleton of chains (picture coming soon) Its ears are long and white with red tips. Discovered by: Espers Breeding group: None replaces in ecosystem: Cwn Annwn Eats: They are said to devour small children...whether this is true or not remains to be proven. Social structure: Solitary habbitat:They usually lurk around dark forests near small villages. Sometimes they haunt manors, but these manors don't last long with 100+ pound beasties crashing through the walls. Rarity: Rare Brief comment: Try as they might, they simply cannot possess other beings or pass through solid objects! Breeding method:None Further note: You cannot possibly eat any one of these pokemon, unless you like raw metal. ^^; ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
