Farewell to Fallen Friends

Stone-na Fleck remebered what they had all gone there for, "Wherra' Goldyduck we havva' pay 'spects to?"

Spirit smiled. "Come here, little one," he said.

The cubone followed, along with Hyron and Dandy. They would all honnor the brave lives of the Golduck and Suudowoodo.

Spirit teleported them all to beside Slywuud's treehouse, where a grave lay open. Inside the home, lay Goldy and the twiggy remains of Slywuud. Evin blinked, his surroundings had changed suddently.

Hyron was amazed. He would just have to learn to teleport someday. It would beat flying!

Spirit sagged, he was tired. Stone-na Fleck stayed close to Spirit, offering a shoulder to help the older pokemon along. "Helpa' you, kay?"

Evin walked towhards Spirit and nuzzled his hand ~asuming Evin can reach it~ "Have some Rest Sir, we will take it from here"

Autumn glanced around ,this was too much for her, so many weird things happening at once, she tried to contact Rage telepathically but it didn't work.

Spirit wearily pointed a hand to the room where the bodies of Goldy and Slywuud lay. "In there, my freinds, are our fallen heros. Please, help me bring them outside, to the graves I had this little Sandshrew make for them."

Dandy looked up to Hyron, "Will you be ok if I help?"

Hyron nodded," I think I can manage on my own , though I wish I could help as well."

The group, Evin, Twirl, Autumn and Choru helped each other to raise Goldy. Dandy walked over to the body of the stick creature, and lifted it. The stick-thing was lightweight and seemed to be made of stone.

Stone-na Fleck and Blueberry also helped with the moving of Goldy. The merill burst into tears as she gently helped to lift the lifeless body of her friend.

Evin sighed, the weight had been hurting his shoulders too much, but now with Blueberry helping at his side, he moved outside with a little more ease. Dandy carried the stick-body and followed behind the pokemon carrying Goldy. Hyron and Spirit, with the Sandshrew to help him, slowly hobbeled behind the procession.

Evin coudn't stop all the thougths, all the destruction, all the death caused by evil, this coudnt go on. Evin sighed,"That Darkius......" These young pokemon here will have to do their best to protect lake Eerie

"Please lower our freinds gently " Spirit cautioned as he caught up to the bearers of the dead.

Evin looked at the grave, it would be hard, but they all cooperated, Autumn and Choru helped lowering Goldy inside while Evin, Bueberry and Stone-na Fleck slowly handed the two vulpix the remains of Goldy...

Dandy shrugged at his simpler task, and stretched deep to gently lay the Suudowoodo into it's tinier final resting place.

Autrumn and Choru both crawled out of the grave helped by Evin and Blueberry and lowered their heads waiting for Spirit's command.

Hyron hobbled over and looked down at Goldy. She had a kind, but tired face. She almost looked sad to be gone. He honnored her like he had honnored one other brave, but sad pokemon. He plucked a gold feather from his tail and, crouching down, set the feather between the golduck's folded paws.

Spirit waved his spoon and called into the day sky, " We give back to you, oh great Lake Eerie, two freinds who fought to protect your lands. Let them rest peacfully in your warm life giving grounds."

Evin had known Goldy, she was determined, determined but very very kind, she didnt diserved this.

Blueberry sobbed at the edge of the golduck's grave and tossed in a flower., "Miss Goldy was my bestest freind.... and she's gone." She turned and kneeled by Slywuud's grave, and sniffled more. "Mister Stick is gone too.... why must all my freinds leave me!" she wailed even more.

Hanekko felt himself become a lump in Blueberry's belly. ~I won't leave you ever... I promise. I don't need a new body... we can share yours~

Twirl walked gently at Blueberry's side "Dont you worry, Twirl is here, Twirl can be new friend, Twirl wont leave"

A tear slipped from Choru's eyes. he stared at the ground. he hadn't even known Goldy... why was he so sad? He didn't have any friends. yet he felt closer to these mourners than he'd ever felt to anyone. he nodded, and made the same clear to Blueberry. 'I don't know you, but I will try. I am here.'

Blueberry quietly hugged herself, rocking on the ground.

"Spirit, I want to ask you, if you could also direct a prayer for my loved Even who also departed to the afterlife to protect me" Evin's eyes filled in tears but he tried to hold them back in fromt of Spirit .

Spirit nodded to Evin, then picked up a handful of reddish earth. He sprinkled it into each grave, and spoke the anceint words of his kind, praying for them and thanking them. He rubbed the remaing red earth over Evin's head. "Your freind has been forgiven, and his spirit given peace."

Evin noded at Spirit "th.. thank. .. thanks a lot" unable to hold it back, Evin started Crying for his departed love .

Dandy sighed, " This is so terribly sad." he leaned on his love and watched as the Kadabra finnished the last rights.

"My freinds, " Spirit had one last request for them, "Will you help me and my Sandshrew freind cover the graves?"

Twirl Autumn and Choru nodded and started moving the ground to cover the grave of Goldy Evin took a moment to cut his tears, then still crying he walked slowly and helped cover Goldy's grave

Dandy and Blueberry burried Slywuud. Blueberry could barely stand to watch the dirt cover her friend from view. It was her last chance to say goodbye.

Spirit sighed, and using a stick, helped pushed some earth over the body of Goldy. His Sandshrew friend back paddled dirt into the grave at a much faster rate. Stone-na Fleck helped as well.

Evin nuzzled the tear stained Blueberry "We will come out of this, you'll see, we have to do our best for our friends and loved ones"

As the last mounds of earth covered thier friends from view, Spirit drew a celestial symbol at the head of each grave, concluding the cerimony. " I thank you for gathering here, my friends."

Blueberry sniffled," I miss them."

Evin smiled at her through his tears "They were very good friends, so now we must do our best to preserve our home they protected so bravely"

The Merill nodded, but was not ready to leave the gravesite.
