Prishtinas most valuable resource is its people. Nearly every major planning decision is based on an analysis of the City's population. The atmosphere of these practical commercial spirit lead to rebuilt of many roads, parks, and other projects in Pristina. Before the war of 1999, Prishtina had few green places, and one badly managed park. The three markets used to be the production of waste and landfield for the garbage. This made Prishtina look very dirty, unatractive, and unfriendly.  After the war, Prishtina had rubiuilt itself. There are several parks, and basketball and volleyball court have been built for the pleasure of the citizens. Stone pathways, public areas built for children, tall trees and flowers have been planted, and Germia park hosts the families that want to relax. Lately a new green place called Tauk Bashqe has been made half way between Grmia and City Park. The construction of Mother Teresa Square changed the city forever. The Clock Tower was rebuilt several times. Following a fire, the tower has been reconstructed using bricks. The Clock Tower dates back to the 19th  century. The original bell was brought to Kosovo from Moldavia during the Ottoman time. In the bore, the inscription red, this bell was made in 1764 for Jon Moldova Rumen. It is believed that the bell was brought by the Ottoman Turkish soldiers. No one knowes exactly the history of the bell. Nevertheless, the golden bell was stollen by the Ottoman Tukish administrators; the replaceement was the bell made in 1764 in Moldova. This bell was stolen also in 2001. The French troops in KFOR with the assistance of French government replaced the clock mechanisme with electric one. However, the clock tower has hard time to keep the time due to the electrical power shortages in Prishtina. The Serbian government in collaboration with criminals of Prishtina has taken the bell without any reason. It is believed that the bell is located in a church near Aleksinac,Serbia, eventhough it is agianst the principles of the orthodox religion to put a stollen bell in a church. The Serbian Church did it, and it allowed the bell to be put on. Opposite the clock tower, the Fatih or Imperial Mosque was built in 1461 under Turkish Sultan Mehmed II Fatih ('the conqueror'), as witnessed by the Arabic engraving above the main door. Inside, painted floral decorations and arabesques grace the walls and ceiling. Pristina's grandest building has a spectacular 15-metre dome resting on support pillars, an architectural feat at the time of construction. The minaret is a reconstruction after the original was damaged during an earthquake in 1955. During Friday payers, the congregation spreads out into the courtyard and even onto the street to pray. The democraticly elected mayor and city assambley has passed several laws of protecting the historical monuments. At this time, there are 21 protected monuments with historical values. Prishtina has undergone through historical timelines that have left remarks on it. The massive graceful minaret and enormous domes, fitted harmoniously within gigantic proportions, as the decadent collection of art represent the city as the ottoman period in Prishtina.
