Part of me is in each of the characters previously described upon this site, but for a dab of reality here I am not a fighter, nor a barmaid, nor any of those other professions. I am a Librarian. While it may not be the most glamorous profession, I have to say it is pretty exciting. Treasure hunt for information day after day, and you never know what information people are going to need.
As to hobbies, the previous two areas also touch on that, but I'll restate for convenience sake. I dabble in online roleplaying. One of the best places to get those creative juices of the mind flowing, and it is a little like acting which my severe stage fright prevents me from cultivating.
I also am a writer, musician, herbalist, and Aunt. Yes, I did put "Aunt" as a hobby. For the really boring technical things:
Age: 30 (as of 2005)
Education: BA in English/Renaissance Literature; MLS (Masters of Library Science)
Music Interests: Classic Rock, Classical, Celtic, Musicals, and almost anything but rap or country
October 2002: The latest news is I'm still unemployed after six months, and I'm to be married on March 15, 2003. At least, that's the running theory. Hopefully a job will come up before that. Anybody have a job for a researcher or librarian, just email me.
As of November 2003, I have been gainfully employed as a librarian in a public library, and it seems I didn't run off my new husband, because he has, indeed, become my husband.
And as of June 2003, I have been working for another public library. The new library opened in November, and it has been an interesting experience so far -- to put it mildly.
On July 12, 2004, I moved out of the house from my husband, and now am simply waiting out the time until the divorce is finalized. Without going into unnecessary long winded explanations, it truly is summed up with irreconcilable differences.
October 2004: The divorce is still not finalized because of various disagreements on material matters, and while I could rant in lengthy prose on this topic, I will refrain. I have another job closer to my family, and I'm enjoying the differences in this library.
January 22, 2005: Out of the generosity of my mother, I am renting a house from her because the divorce *still* isn't over and done. Let me just say how annoying this is: My name is wrong, my taxes have to be done in a way that actually goes against me, I can't have my own house because my name is still on another mortgage, and basically I can't get on with my life. What should I expect? There was no consideration during the marriage, why should there be when I'm trying to get free?
October 5, 2005: And here we are, just waiting for the judge to sign the decree. All I can say is "Thank the maker!" or when I'm under the influence of Firefly "Shiny!" Pity that series was cancelled. There are those who did not like it, the ones that really enjoyed it and found it fresh and entertaining, then the brainwashed. I'd like to think I'm falling into the middle category. There are some elements that seem rather rudimentary, but there was such exciting potential there. The movie "Serenity" is an interesting element of that potential, but I do think its more assured medium would be TV. Of course, I rather like looking at Nathan Fillion: small screen - large screen...doesn't matter. Quite pleasing to look upon.
I digress. Well, the divorce process is in its death throws, my work is about the same, and I'm considering, once again, a change in either venue or career. I'm thinking New Zealand these days. I'll be taking a jaunt over that way in March 2006, and if I'm ever going to do something like this, it might as well be while I'm still relatively young.
I'm going to be working on a revamp of these pages. They are old and old looking. Time for a new style for the new me.
One of the many "What something or other are you?" that was passed on through an email list.

Your wings are DRAGON wings. Massive and covered in scales, they shimmer with strength
and magic. They are the most obvious display of your power - though it runs equally throughout your heart and mind. You are uncompromising and
grave, with a profound sense of justice. You have firm ideas about what is right and what is wrong and set out to fix what problems you can. You realize that you are more capable of dealing with life and evil than most, and as such you see it as your responsibility to protect those who cannot defend themselves. You have existed since antiquity and as such you are wise far beyond your years in this lifetime. While you strive for fairness and peace, if someone should steal from your cave of treasure (though not all that glitters is gold) or compromise the happiness of you or one who is close to you - they have signed their death warrant. You have a mighty vengeance and will unleash it upon such people immediately and mercilessly. Arguing with you is useless...you rarely back down and are known for holding firm in your beliefs. Sometimes you feel intensely burdened with the troubles of others...acting as a Guardian can get so wearisome. But you never give up...you see it as your life's mission. Often very introverted, you can be so smart...it's scary. Such a combination of intelligence, creativity, power, beauty, and magic is often intimidating to those around you - who are also unlikely to understand you. Arrogant, proud, overserious, and sometimes a bit greedy or obsessed with whatever treasure you choose to pursue...you have enchanted people for centuries, and will continue to do so.
