History:
Dorig Hammerfeld was born to a renowned blacksmith and his wife. From the moment he was born, he was always considered special, namely because of his bright blond hair.
Dorig was taught the trade by his father, but was initially bored with smithing. Having grown up with it every day, it had lost its flair. He went out adventuring, and earned enough to gain himself a decent keep. It was located in a string of caves, which had been turned into a beautiful stone house by an ancient Dwarven stonecrafter.
He was married, once, and had 2 children. However, he was not so fortunate as he once thought. A bright red dragon, looking for a new home, spotted Dorig's keep, and claimed it for herself. She waited until early the next morning, after Dorig had left to go hunting for breakfast, and attacked. Hearing a commotion at his home, Dorig ran back as fast as he could. He found his house charred from the dragon's breath, and his family nowhere in sight. Suddenly, the dragon sprang from hiding, and attacked him. He managed to slay the beast, although he was never quite the same after that.
As it turned out, his family had been burned alive, and thier remains he found in the house. Dorig collapsed the caves on his burned out abode, and built a cairn for his wife, and 2 for his children. He then set out for the city, and went back to work as a smith.
To this point, Dorig is nearly 150 years old. He has developed a fair reputation for himself as a smith, and has given up the ways of the warrior. He even began learning magic, since he was finding it more and more difficult to walk to his favorite mining spots with his increasing age.
He has more or less overcome his loss, and is looking for a nice woman to settle down with, although he has had no real luck thus far. He can usually be found near the smithy in Brittain, making weapons, armor, and also repairing them.
