Caught up in the pain and anguish from the abrupt loss of his brother, and the destruction of the evil mage at his own hands, Draiden fell into a Despairing haze, that consumed him. The act of taking a life of another was anemtha to his kind, and for that he was forever shunned.
Wandering the realm alone, Draidens despair consumed him, becoming the core of his being, his only reason for living. His despair was so strong it sustained him long past his alotted years, and as he slowly gained knowledge and strength, he eventually challenged the gods, what he thought was his rightful place in their midst.
Unable to overcome the power his despair gave to him, the gods of the realm allowed Draiden to join their ranks. Now, he travels the land, sowing despair in his tracks, and causing all that worship him to have the power to cause others a great despair, that they are overcome.
