Fakov in America, aka The Russians Are Here!, is a comedy starring and written by Ilia Volok and David Laird Scott. This firecracker of a play is about a young Russian farmer named Ilia Pushkin Fakov (played by Volok) who comes to America pursuing the American Dream. After a series of job failures, Ilia meets a young woman who helps procure his dream job of working at a zoo cleaning the cage of the world-famous Gorilla Bubbles. Mayhem ensues when Ilia sets Gorilla Bubbles free. His life takes many directions before he finally finds that the secret to success is closer to home than he thought. In this two-man, one-act play, David Laird Scott plays the more than 15 characters Ilia encounters along the way.
