Taija and Kiari's littlest sister Lainey Rose arrived early Sunday morning after an exciting night. Melanie went into labor at 11:30pm Saturday, and by 2am Levi, Mel's friend Maureen, Grandma Jan, Grandpa Tim, and Uncle Nick were all there to help out. Midwife Vanita Lott and her assistant Ramona were helping Melanie out.
Although both Melanie and the baby were doing well, Vanita was concerned about the baby's heart rate, so at 4:30am we all went to the hospital, just in case.
Lainey arrived at 5:23 am, to a relieved mama and a supportive and very happy (but very tired) daddy.
Lainey was soon joined by her two older sisters and her Grandma Mellie, and Melanie and Levi's friend Randy also visited. They stayed in the hospital for the day, but by 8pm Lainey was on her way home.
