Once the game of cat and mouse was up, his tune changed and though he still professed love for her, she saw less and less of him every day. During those months, she had had become closer to not only Gabes cousin- Lady Austrania but also... a friend and lover of Gabe- Sona Demimonde. She had watched from the sidelines as a friend as he seduced and claimed woman after woman. Then one day, he simply disappeared. That should have been her first clue, but she sure as hell did not pay any notice of it. Long after all ties between Gabe and Laila were broke, Hunter returned. He claimed he returned just in time- for her. She was single now. She could rightly be his. Where before, he refused to add more turmoil to her life- or break apart a relationship she had seemed so happy in, now.. she was available and he could stake his hearts claim upon her. Theirs was a whirlwind of a relationship. Moving in together... marriage plans..mistrust... pregnancy... and miscarriage would quickly decend upon them. They would end in a friendly parting of ways. Hunter would come back to make his presence and his interests in her known, time and time again- no matter who Laila was with at the time. |

Rya was more than content to do his job and do it well, where Laila would do her job and constantly push herself to keep exceeding her own expectations. In silence and faith, a friendship was established and a loyalty was forged. He made it known that if ever she was in need of him, he would drop anything to stand beside her as a friend. This.. silent understanding.. grew into a pure and loyal affection... and later.. love. However, once more possibility would collide with regret, as Rya's other responsibilities took him farther and farther away from her. Sometimes, he would have to be away for long periods of time... and she would quietly wait with nothing more to do but gamble with her heart. Until, one night he completely disappeared from her life- forever... or did he? |
