Laguna Beach- Trey Phillips

Trey Phillips

Age: 18
Sign: Pisces
Quick Summary: Best friends with Stephen since childhood, Trey is a senior and the thinking girl's hunk. He's passionate about politics and activism and has a sharp sense of style. When Trey's not organizing open mic nights to promote his non-profit organization, Active Young Americans, he's designing many of his own clothes, including a line of trendy trucker hats. With life decisions right around the corner, like will he get into his dream school, NYU, Trey must figure out if he'll focus on fashion or politics, and how to take the movement he started in Laguna to the next level.

Q & A with Trey:

How did you feel when you found out you would be on the show?
I was amped. I thought it was a great opportunity to document my senior year and also expose the great things in Laguna like places, up and coming talent as well as the things I just like to do.

Have you ever skipped school? If so, what did you do instead of classes?
I would skip school a lot to go hang out with my friends but I also skipped a lot because I would rather go home and work the things I like to do: make music, clothing, read the newspaper. But pretty soon my senioritis bit me in the ass pretty hard.

How important is money in your life?
It is and it isn't. I'd choose what I like to do any day over size of paycheck, but I would like to be able to support my travel habit.

When and how was your first kiss?
My family threw an engagement party for my brother, Trevor, and my sister-in-law, Sarah, and I guess I got to know one of the caterers better than the others.

Who's your biggest celebrity crush and why?
I don't have one, I haven't met any yet.

Where do you see yourself 10 years?
Doing something I love to do

What's the biggest misconception about kids from LB?
We're not all part of the extravagant culture that we're cut out to be. Most of the people I know here realize how lucky we all are to live in Laguna, and are super down to earth. But every now and again I run into the typical stereotype that so many people judge us by.

What's your most guilty pleasure?
I don't feel guilty about any of my pleasures.

Who's the most moral and ethical of your friends? Who's the least?
All my close friends hold really strong to their morals. We're all pretty good at knowing right from wrong.

What are your three favorite films?
Fight Club, Malcolm X, and Dog Town and the Z Boys.

What do you find attractive? What qualities do you look for in someone you'd like to date?
Every girl I've liked has had unique qualities that have attracted me to her. But she's gotta be sharp and she's gotta smile.

Were there certain things you were embarrassed to do on camera? If so, what?
Initially, the whole camera thing embarrassed me, but I learned to ignore it and go on with life.
