Chapter Seven- 2 Good 2 Be True
"Have you gotten your reeses pieces yet?" Lori asked changing the subject.
"No. Why?"
"Because you dragged me in here so you could buy reeses pieces."
"I wouldn't say I dragged you in here. I wanted you to come with me."
"Can't buy reeses pieces on your own?"
"I can. I just told your dad and your brother that you were in good hands, which means that I'm not going to leave you out on the street in NYC."
"I'm a big girl Matt. I can take care of myself you know."
"You'll have to convince me."
"Yeah. I'll convince you alright." She rolled her eyes and said, "I really need to go....buy that stuff."
"Midol?"
"Matt, just shuddup."
She stuck her tongue out at him and he said, "Don't stick out your tongue unless you plan on using it."
"Oooh. That was a good one. I ALMOST laughed."
"Since you have your monthly friend I'll let your attitude go."
"Gee, you're so generous." She paused then said, "And I wouldn't call it a monthly friend. It's more of a monthly pain in the ass."
"Haha. So...um.....does...?"
"Does what?"
"Does your head hurt...or?"
"My stomach hurts."
"Cramps?"
"This is so embarrassing."
"What? What is?"
"Talking to you about my fuckin' period. I barely know you."
"So get to know me."
"You mean you actually wanna get to know me?"
"I like you and am attracted to you so yeah, I wanna get to know you. I want to spend time with you."
"How long are you and your family in New York?"
"A week."
"I only got a week to spend time with you then you go back to New Hampshire and I never ever see you again?" Matt frowned.
"Yeah." she said trying to pretend that it wasn't such a big deal.
"But....my time with you is limited. I gotta make it count."
"You being here with me is enough. I don't get a lot of attention from the guys back home."
"Well, the guys back home where you live are stupid."
"Why are you saying that when you don't even know me?"
"Because that's my opinion and I'll say it. The guys back home where you live ARE stupid."
"Who's that?" Lori asked when she saw a very pretty girl standing behind him. She looked like she just stepped off the runway.
"Who's who?" Matt asked slightly confused.
Somebody tapped him on the shoulder, which made him turn around. He was face to face with his girlfriend, Alexia.
"Is that your girlfriend, Matt?" Lori asked eyeing him.
"Yeah. I'm his girlfriend." Alexia said in a very snobby tone.
Lori rolled her eyes and said, "I'm out of here. I can't believe I actually fell for those stupid lines. You figured I was a Dream Street fan so you thought you could take advantage of me and use me to see how far you'd get....I can't believe I actually liked you. I HATE YOU! YOU'RE A FUCKIN' TWO TIMING BASTARD!"
Matt turned around to look at her, but she had disappeared. She went back to find her mom, dad and brother and when she did find them at the TRL store, Matt's friends were also there.
"Hey, isn't that the girl Matt likes?" Greg asked when he spotted her walking into the store.
"Yeah. That's definitely her." Frankie told him. "She's so pretty."
"Yeah. Too bad Matt's still going out with that stupid slut." Jesse thought out loud.
"Umm...guys....I think we have a situation on our hands....if Lori's in here by herself, without Matt, where's Matt?"
"They probably ran into Alexia and now Matt's talking to Alexia." Greg simplified.
"He's not talking to Alexia." Chris said.
"Where is he then?"
"He's right there. He's trying to talk to Lori, but she's ignoring him." Chris replied.
"She's probably pissed off at him."
"She probably is."
"Lorr, I'm so sorry." Matt was saying.
"I don't want your fuckin' apologies Matt. Go fuck your stupid girlfriend." she snapped. "Just get the hell away from me!"
"I don't wanna go fuck her. She was cheating on me with this kid Travis...."
"And you figured you'd get her back by hurting ME?"
"When I met you Lorr...I just....I forgot all about..whatever the hell her name is."
"Sweet talk. Nice." she said dryly. She turned to him and said, "Don't try fixing this problem. It can't be solved or fixed."
"In your mind it can't, but in my mind it can and I WILL fix this problem."
"Go right ahead and try."
"OK. I will. Come on."
And with that Matt grabbed her hand and pulled her out of the store. Lori broke away from him and started going in the opposite direction when.......
"Hey baby, what's going on?" an older man, about 30 years old, said.
He started to reach her for her when all of a sudden.....
