Chapter Three- The Short, Little Cute Blonde Girl
"Hey dude, what are you staring at?" Greg asked when he noticed that Matt was staring off into space.
"I'm not staring at anything. I was....just looking around." Matt said trying to play it off.
"Yeah right...come on. What were you staring at?" Greg insisted.
"I told you...I was just looking around. I wasn't staring at anything." Matt said simply.
"I think he was staring at the girl right there looking at the different key chains." Chris joked.
Matt looked over and saw a gothic girl spinning the rack around, scrutinizing every little key chain. He looked at Chris and said, "No. I definitely wasn't staring at her." He quickly added, "She's probably related to Frankenstein or something."
"Then who were you staring at? I know you weren't 'just looking around'." Greg asked.
"He could have been staring at that short little cute blonde girl right there too." Chris suggested.
"What short little cute blonde girl?" Greg looked around and soon saw who Chris was talking about.
"She's staring at Matt." Chris whispered. "I think she likes him."
"Probably because she's a Dream Street fan." Jesse added without much enthusiasm.
"If she's a fan she would have come over and asked us for pictures and autographs and everything else already." Matt said thoughtfully.
"She could be a fan AND shy." Greg put in.
"Or she could NOT be a fan at all." Chris shrugged.
"Be quiet you guys. She's coming over here." Frankie said when he noticed that 'the short, little cute blonde girl' was slowly walking in their direction.
"I wonder why she's so dressed up." Chris said observing the clothes that she was wearing.
"She's probably meeting her boyfriend here." Matt said glumly. He frowned.
"Awww. Does Matt have a crush?" Chris teased.
"No." Matt replied quickly.
"Uh-huh." Chris laughed. "I think he does."
"Go over to her and talk to her dude." Greg said encouragingly. "I'm sure she won't bite. She doesn't look the type."
"Yeah. That's what I thought about Alexia. She looked like an angel, but she was nothing but a devil." Matt said sarcastically.
"She doesn't really look the type. I mean, does she look like the type to you?" Greg asked.
Matt turned his head and took a quick glance at the girl, but she was nowhere to be found. He looked around all over the store then spotted her looking at the calendars. She looked up when she felt somebody's eyes on her, took a quick glance around the store then went back to looking at the calendars.
"I think that's the first girl I've seen today that actually has a body. All the girls I've seen are like toothpicks." Chris said.
"Chris, dude, shut up." Matt rolled his eyes.
"What do you mean she actually has a body?" Matt asked a couple minutes later.
"I mean she has curves. She's not like a toothpick." Chris said.
"You've noticed too?" Matt blurted out.
The guys laughed and 'the short, cute little blonde girl' looked over at them, which made them stop laughing. When she made eye contact with Greg she immediately looked away and pretended as if she didn't see him, or his friends.
"Yep. She's definitely a shy one." Greg decided.
"How do you know she's shy?" Matt asked suspiciously.
"'Cuz when I looked at her she looked away." Greg said simply.
"That doesn't mean anything." Matt said as he took another quick glance at 'the short, cute little blonde girl'.
"OK so maybe it doesn't, but if a girl looked at you and then looked away, pretending as if you weren't there, what would you think?" Greg asked looking at him.
"That maybe she's busy doing something and....or she could just not like me." Matt said hesitantly.
"Just because she looks away doesn't mean she doesn't like you." Greg mocked.
"You're such a loser. Shuddup." Matt said looking at him.
"We should go talk to her." Chris said jumping into the conversation.
"I think MATT should go talk to her." Jesse suggested.
"I think you guys all need to LEAVE MATT ALONE." Matt said putting stress on the last part. "And if I felt like talking to her I probably would have been over there talking to her by now."
"No you wouldn't. You're shy too." Chris teased.
"Did you forget to take Midol this morning?" Matt asked sardonically. He tried really hard not to laugh.
"You guys....are you she-he's?" a voice asked.
The guys looked at each other then looked where the voice was coming from. It was the gothic girl and she was standing near them.
"No. We're not she-he's." Jesse said. He rolled his eyes.
"Then why was that McCauly Caulkin look-a-like asking the dude with the shades and the spiky hair if he took midol?" the gothic girl asked.
Matt rolled his eyes and said, "I'm not a McCauly Caulkin look-a-like. You don't even know me."
"And I'm glad I don't. You're too pure looking to be a bad guy." the gothic girl decided.
"Shows how much you know." a sweet, angelic voice said. It belonged to 'the short, cute little blonde girl'.
The gothic girl glanced to her right and saw a preppy looking girl standing there. She turned back to Matt. "Is this your preppy girlfriend?"
"IF she WAS, would that bother you?" Matt snapped.
"So she IS your girlfriend?" the gothic girl asked.
"Yep. She's my girlfriend." Matt said sarcastically.
The short, little cute blonde girl looked at him as if he was nuts, but by the look he was giving her just said, Just plaay along. She let out a giggle.
"You're too skinny. She's too.....I dunno how you say it...um....fat?" the gothic girl said rudely.
"Look who's talking." Jesse snapped.
"She's not fat. You're the one who is. Lay off the twinkies." Matt added.
The short, little cute blonde girl stifled a giggle.
"And don't talk about my girlfriend like that. She's tight." Matt said sincerely.
"She's a ditzy blonde." the gothic girl, Gretchen, said.
"I may be ditzy, but I still have morals and I know not to treat people like shit, especially if I don't even know the person." the short, little cute blonde girl said.
"You mean you actually are allowed to say SHIT?" Gretchen asked in complete shock.
"I'm allowed to say FUCK OFF too you DUMB BITCH!" the short, little cute blonde girl shouted at her.
"Oooh." Jesse laughed.
"Chic fight!"
"Nah. I have better things to do with my time." Gretchen said.
"Like go in the woods, cast spells and talk to the devil." the short, little cute blonde girl said dryly.
"You're funny." Jesse smiled at her.
"I made him smile." she said surprised.
"And that surprises you?" Jesse asked. He eyed her, giving her the once over.
"She's probably a stupid Dream Street fan." Gretchen said when she caught a glimpse of the calendar the blonde girl was holding.
"I'm not a stupid Dream Street fan!" the blonde girl shouted.
"ARE you a Dream Street fan?" Frankie asked.
"Um....maybe...maybe not." She laughed.
"She is. She's holding a Dream Street calendar." Gretchen told them.
"Is that a problem if I do?"
"I just hope the guys know that you're probably a shallow Dream Street fan who's probably only after one thing....money and publicity." Gretchen said.
"I'm not shallow and for your information, I'd like them even if they weren't in Dream Street....If they weren't in Dream Street and I saw them walking around or whatever the case may be, I'd like them. It's a career. They're regular guys." the blonde girl said angrily, but in a serious tone of voice.
"Are you sure you're a Dream Street fan?" Jesse eyed her.
"Yeah, I know. Most girls that are Dream Street fans are....shallow." Matt agreed.
"I'm NOT like the other fans. I'm ME." she said. "And yeah, I'm sure I'm a Dream Street fan. I just....you guys are so amazing... any girl, except for this gothic girl right here, would love you if they gave you half a chance."
"Aren't you sweet." Greg smiled at her.
"She's just sucking up to you." Gretchen told them.
"I'm not sucking up to them. I'm being honest you dumbass." the short, cute little blonde girl said angrily.
"So you love us?" Chris joked.
"You're so self-centered." Gretchen said.
"Shuddup. You don't even know him." the blonde girl said angrily.
"Oh? And you do?" the gothic girl asked challenging her.
"I'm a stupid Dream Street fan, remember?" the blonde girl snarled back. She rolled her eyes. "I don't even know why I'm fighting with you. It's pointless 'cuz I know I'm gonna win."
"You should go out with the guy with the spiked hair instead of the McCauly Caulkin look-a-like." Gretchen told her. "You're both conceited and self-absorbed."
"Will you just shut up?" Jesse snapped.
"Who? Me? Or the dumb, ditzy self-absorbed blonde?" Gretchen asked looking at him.
"YOU!" Jesse shouted at her.
