Chapter Seven: Nothing Going On!!
Jessica, Chris, Jesse, Greg and Frankie left Matt and Lori standing there, face to face and all alone. They watched their friends leave then Matt said, "I don't know what's going on."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean----I don't know what's going on between us."
"Nothing's going on between us," Lori reminded him.
"There isn't?" Matt looked at her closely and saw that she was out of it. He shook her arm then she opened her eyes. "Are you OK?" He asked.
She nodded and said, "I guess."
"Lorr----" Matt began.
"Yeah?"
***WITH JESSICA AND THE GUYS***
"I think Matt likes Lori," Chris said.
"How do you know that?" Jesse asked. I really like her, but if she wants to be with Matt then maybe I could try to hook the two up even though I'm sure Matt's way ahead of me on that one.
"I don't know. I just have a feeling," Chris replied.
"So you don't know for sure?" Jesse inquired. His friends looked at him suspiciously then Greg said, "I think Jess has a crush."
"I do not!" Jesse shouted. "And even if I did, it's none of your business."
"I really am sorry about yesterday," Matt told her.
"Why do you keep saying sorry?"
"Because I am. Brittany was way out of line. I should have said something to her."
"She wouldn't have listened, Matt."
"Yeah. I guess you're right."
"So......."
"So......."
"This is fun."
"Blast."
He looked at Lori and said, "Thanks."
She looked at him as if he was nuts and asked, "Why are you thanking me?"
"For standing up for me yesterday."
"Oh. Yeah. No problem. Anytime."
"Why exactly did you stand up for me yesterday?"
"Because I did. Nobody else was going to, but I don't know."
"Oh. OK."
"You OK?"
"Why?"
"You're acting weird."
"Did I do something wrong?"
"No. You didn't do anything wrong," He replied.
"OK."
