Chapter Thirteen: The After Math of Jesse's Rage

"I can't believe you'd do that to some girl you don't even know," Frankie said sounding extremely disappointed in his friend. "She didn't deserve that Jesse."

"Oh, and I deserved to be smacked across the face?" Jesse challenged him.

"You were being a jerk to her Jesse. If I was her I would have done the same thing," Greg said.

"I should go talk to her," Jessica said. She left the guys in the living room and ran up the stairs to her friends' room, which was the last door on the right. She knocked on the door, but nobody responded. Jessica jumped back when she saw the door start to open. She was surprised when she saw that Lori was crying extremely hard.

"Lori, I am so sorry," Jessica said.

"So much for being a nice guy," Lori said through her tears, remembering what her friend had said earlier that day.

"Maybe Jesse had a bad discussion with Ashley or whatever. Maybe she told him that he was being an asshole," Jessica joked. Lori managed a small giggle then asked, "Did Matt leave?"

"No. He's downstairs. He's so mad at Jesse for what he did to you. All the guys are pretty upset," Jessica replied.

"Except for Jesse right?"

"Deep down I'm sure he feels bad."

"Jessica---" A voice began. Jessica turned around and saw Matt standing there.

"Is it OK if I talk to Lorr alone for a couple minutes?" He asked. Jessica smiled at him, letting him know that it was OK then went back downstairs to see that the guys were still on Jesse's case about how he had treated Lori.

"I'm sorry about Jesse," Matt said looking at her. Lori backed up into her room and said, "You can come in if you want to."

"You sure?" Lori smiled at him and said, "Yeah."

"Were you crying?" He stared into her eyes and wiped away her tears that were beginning to fall from her eyes.

"I'm f---f---fine," she stammered. Matt looked at her and said, "You're not a very good liar."

"I--I know," she stammered once again. He took her hand and led her over to the bed. They sat down next to each other and Matt turned towards her.

"What?" she asked when she realized that Matt was staring at her.

"Nothing," he answered quickly.

She looked over at him and asked, "Why'd you really come up here Matt?"

"I wanted to see if you were OK and I wanted to tell you something."

"What'd you want to tell me?" She waited for an answer, hoping that he would tell her the truth and not be like Jesse.
