Lori's Upset -Chapter Six

Kristin: YES! WE'RE FINALLY IN LAGUNA!!!
Lori: (sing- song voice) Laguna! Laguna! Laguna!
Jessica: HOME SWEET LAGUNA BEACH!!!
Chris, Greg, Matt, Jesse and Frankie glanced sideways at each other and laughed quietly to themselves. But they were happy that the girls were happy, for they had been completely miserable the past three weeks when they were in New York.
Kristin: Home sweet home.
Lori: OK. We have to go to the Golden Spoon.
Jessica: We have to go to Muse.
Kristin: We have to go to LS&S.
Greg: LS & S?
Girls: Laguna Surf & Sport.
Greg: Oh.
Lori: I have to go to Muse, but I can go there tomorrow.
Kristin: We can all go tomorrow.
Matt: What's Muse?
Kristin: A boutique.
Lori: We love that place.
Jessica: Yeah we do.
Jesse: I'll stick with Laguna Surf & Sport.
Greg: I take it Muse is a store for girls.
Girls: Yeah.
Greg: (looking at Lori) Do you think we could get something for my sisters?
Lori: You bet.
She smiled at him which made his heart melt. He was so happy that she didn't lose interest in him. Soon he was daydreaming about all the times they had hooked up.
Kristin: Well, I'm going home.
Lori: Yeah I'm going home, too.
Jessica: See you tomorrow.
Matt and Greg frowned when they realized Kristin and Lori had forgotten all about them. Then Lori grabbed Greg's hand and kissed his cheek.
Lori: Come on baby. You're comin' home with me.
Greg: Lucky me.
He grinned and she grinned.
Lori: Very lucky.
They smiled at each other.
Lori: Let's go. (looking at Kristin and Jessica) Bye Kristin. Bye Jess.
K and J: Bye Lori.
Kristin: Make sure you and Greg behave.
Lori: You know we will.
Kristin: (looking at Greg) Watch this one.
Greg: I'll watch her....like a hawk.
He laughed.
Kristin: I know you will.
Jessica yawned.
Jessica: Man I am so tired.
Jesse: You look it.
Frankie: What are you talking about Jesse? She looks beautiful.
Jessica: Aww. Thanks Frankie.
Chris: Frankie likes Jessica. Frankie likes Jessica.
Frankie: Can you blame me?
Chris: No. She's gorgeous....and she knows she is.
Jessica: Yeah. Nobody's told me that I'm gorgeous before.
Kristin: Jessica, people have told you that you're gorgeous before.
Lori: Your ex-boyfriend did.
Jessica: Yeah then he cheated on me with some other girl so what he said is meaningless to me. It just doesn't mean anything to me. I hate him.
Frankie: Why'd he cheat on you?
Jessica: Why else does a guy cheat on his girlfriend? He wanted a piece of ass and I'm not some easy lay. I'll never be like that.
Frankie smiled.
Frankie: Good.
Kristin frowned and Lori suddenly got a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach.
Jessica: Good? Why is that good?
Frankie: No guy likes a slut.
Lori went over to Greg and put her arms around him. He put his arms around her and held her so tight and close.
Lori: I love you.
Greg: I love you, too. I always will.
Kristin started crying when Matt took her in his arms and held her.
Matt: (in a whisper) Ssh. It's OK.
She slowly put her arms around him and held him in a very tight, warm loving embrace.
Kristin: I love you Matt.
Matt: I love you too baby girl.
She backed away from him and stared into his eyes. She only saw one thing- the look of love.
Kristin: Will you--- Will you be my boyfriend?
Matt: Are you serious?
Kristin: I'm serious about you.
Matt: Kristin.
Kristin: Yeah baby?
Matt: Yeah, I'll be your boyfriend.
Kristin: Really?
Matt: Yeah really.
Jesse: Kristin and Matt are going out.
Chris: What's wrong with Lori?
Greg: She doesn't feel well.
Lori: I feel like shit.
Kristin: Maybe it's something you ate. The plane food did taste weird.
Lori: I'm buying my own private plane. That's the last time I take a plane like that. I deserve better.
Greg: You're gonna buy your own plane?
Lori: Yeah once I ear the money. I doubt daddy will let me buy a plane.
Jesse: I thought you were spoiled.
Lori: I am but my parents do set limits. I mean I'm not Paris Hilton.
Greg: I don't want you to be Paris Hilton. I want you to be you.
Lori: You're too much Greg.
Kristin: Anyone wanna have a sleepover?
Lori: I just need time by myself. I wanna go home.
Greg: So umm....you guys...are we going to stay in a hotel?
Lori: I'll be right back, if anyone cares.
Lori walked away and disappeared into the sea of bodies. She went into the bathroom and started crying hysterically.
Chris: What's wrong with Lori? I haven't seen her like this before. Do you know why she's so upset Greg?
Greg: I don't know.
Jessica: It's probably because of what I said. She probably thinks she's a slut.
Greg: Well she's not.
Jessica: I know. I know she's not a slut. Lori's not that type of girl. (pause) I'm gonna go find her.
Greg: Can I go with you?
Jessica: Sure if you really want to.
Greg: I really want to.
Jessica: OK. Then come with me.
Greg: OK.
Kristin: I'm coming, too.
Jessica: Whoever's coming or whoever wants to come can, now let's go!!!
Narrator: The group walked off in the direction Lori had gone and Greg immediately spotted her walking towards them, but when she was feet away she ignored them. Greg grabbed her hand, which made her turn around.
Lori: What Greg?
Greg: Wanna tell me what's wrong?
Lori: No, not really.
Greg: (in a whisper) Are you----?
Lori: No I'm not.
Greg: Positive?
Lori: Positive. I'm not pregnant.
Greg: OK. So what's going on? Why are you so upset?
Lori: Do you think I'm a slut?
Narrator: Greg gave her an adoring, loving look and she just looked at him, wondering what he was going to say.
Greg: No, I don't. Is that what's been bothering you? You think I think you're a slut?
Lori: Y- Yeah.
Greg: Lorr, I don't think you're a slut.
Lori: Are you just saying that to make me feel better?
Greg: Lorr, you're not a slut. How many times do I have to say it for you to believe me?
Lori: Until I believe it...as many times as it takes for me to believe it.
Greg: Lorr, come on. You know you're not a slut and I know you're not a slut. Why can't that be enough? Why can't you believe me?
Lori: I need time to think.
Greg: Don't be mad at me.
Lori: Why would I be mad at you?
Greg: I don't know.
Lori: OK.
Greg: I'm worried about you.
Lori: Why?
Greg: 'Cuz I've never seen you this upset before.
Lori: Oh.
Greg: Is there anything else bothering you?
Lori: I don't know.
Kristin: She needs to go to Cabo. That place is like her second home.
Lori: Cabo, Cabo, Cabo.
Jessica: I think we should all go to Cabo.
Kristin: I wanna go to Mammoth.
Jesse: I wanna go home.
Chris: I want to go home, too. I miss the big city.
Greg: Come on you guys. Try to have some fun while we're here.
Narrator: Lori walked away and went outside.
Greg: I really wish I knew what was wrong wiht Lori.
Narrator: He looked over at Kristin and Jessica.
Greg: Has she told you anything?
Kristin: Umm. . . .
Narrator: She hesitated.
Kristin: Yeah, but we're not allowed to say anything.
Greg: Why can't you say anything?
Kristin: Because we promised her that we wouldn't. We're not going to betray her.
Greg: OK. That's understandable but still---I wanna know why she's so upset.
Kristin: I know Greg. And when she feels it's the right time she'll tell you. Until then you just have to be patient.
Greg: Is it something bad?
Kristin: I dunno.
Greg: Can you please tell me what's wrong with her? Not knowin' is like killin' me.
Jessica: Give Lori a chance to tell you.
Kristin: I hate seein' her like this. She's like so miserable.
Jessica: I hate seein' her like this, too.
Narrator: Lori joined them, which made Greg look over at her. He thought she looked beautiful, as always, but the smile that he knew and loved was now replaced with a frown. He frowned.
Greg: Lori, do you think we could talk?
Narrator: Lori didn't answer him.
Lori: Kristin, do you think I could spend the night at your crib?
Kristin: Sure hun.
Greg: Lori?
Lori: Yeah?
Greg: Can we talk? Please?
Lori: Umm...I guess. Yeah.
Narrator: They walked away and when they were out of hearing distance she turned towards him.
Lori: What do we need to talk about?
Greg: We need to talk about you. Lorr, you're scaring me.
Lori: I'm scaring you?
Greg: Yeah, you are. (pause) What's going on?
Lori: This is an easy one.
Greg: Huh? What? What are you talking about?
Lori: Greg there's nothing going on. I'm fine. Really.
Greg: Come on Lori. Tell me the truth.
Lori: Greg I just miss you. I know you're always with me and always by my side but still---I just---you're the first guy I've ever been really serious about and the first guy I've ever really loved. I've never felt this way about anyone before and it's overwhelming. It's like taking me over. I can't eat...I can't sleep...I can't focus....(pause) I love you so much.
Greg: Lorr, I love you, too. (pause) But why do you look so sad and depressed?
Lori: I'm scared of losing you. Greg, you're my world.
Greg: Lorr you won't lose me, I promise.
Lori: I won't?
Greg: No, you won't. Lorr, I'm not going anywhere.
Lori: I really do love you. You're the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. (long pause) Words can't express what I'm feeling right now.
Greg: I know you really love me and Lorr?
Lori: Yeah?
Greg: I feel the same exact way you're feeling right now.
Lori: I feel that way all the time.
Greg: So do I.
Lori:
