CHAPTER 17: Lori's True Confession

"Matt, I'd go anywhere with you, but I doubt I can go. My parents...." she began. She got cut off.

"They said you could go. You'd just have to stay with me at my house and that I'd have to keep an eye on you and take good care of you." he said cutting her off. "And I will."

"Please come with me." he pleaded.

"Anything for you my love." She smiled at him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips. She grinned and said, "You'd know I go anywhere with you and do anything for you."

"I knew the devil in you would come out." he smirked and said, "I just had to wait."

"I'm an angel and don't you forget it, Matty B." she said pointing at him.

"You like pointing at me don't you?" he teased her as he took her hand.

"Hmm...I'm hungry. I wonder if there's any pizza left." she said. She licked her lips.

They went upstairs and he shut off the light to her room and started poking her and she squirmed and giggled. When Greg heard her giggle he had a guess at what was going on. They walked into the kitchen and Lori ran to the only open seat available but Matt had already grabbed it. She sat on his lap and jumped up. "Matt what the heck. You jerk." She rolled her eyes.

"Sit on my lap. I don't mind." He grinned. Then he realized that he had to tell her about the song that he had picked out to be their song.

She grabbed a paper plate and put a piece of pepperoni and a slice of cheese on the plate and went into the living room. She grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. She channel surfed until she found Full House on the Fox Family Channel. Matt came in and sat beside her.

"Matt." Greg said walking into the living room.

Matt broke eye contact with Lori and looked over at Greg. "Yeah dude?" he asked.

Lori stood up and walked out into the kitchen, leaving Matt and Greg alone to talk. Matt stared at her then looked back at Greg.

"Her parents want to talk to you." Greg told him.

"I'm gonna ask her to...." Matt's voice trailed off when he saw the expression on Greg's face.

"Are you serious?" Greg blurted out.

Matt eyed him and said, "Dude, chill."

Greg let out a sigh of relief and said, "I thought you were going to ask her to marry you."

"No. I wasn't going to ask her that. I'm not ready to settle down yet. And I want to play the field."

"But you love Lorr," Greg reminded him, "Well, you told her that you did." Then he asked, "You're playing her aren't you?"

"Yeah. I'm playing her." Matt said dryly. He rolled his eyes.

"I can't believe you." a voice said from the doorway. The person glared at him and the voice said, "I knew it was too good to be true! I can't believe I poured my heart out to you and then you tell Greg that you're playing me. YOU'RE such a creep! I HATE YOU AND YOU CAN FORGET EVERYTHING I TOLD YOU! FORGET ME! JUST FORGET WE EVER MET! YOU'RE SUCH AN ASSHOLE!" The person turned away and yelled, "GET OUT MY HOUSE AND STAY OUT OF MY LIFE!" Then the angry-sad-and disappointed person ran downstairs and slammed the bedroom door.

"Lorr's pissed off." Greg told his friend who had a scared yet sad facial expression plastered on his face.

"I was kidding." Matt shook his head. "Maybe she's right. Maybe I am an asshole."

"So you're NOT playing her?" Greg asked.

"You know I'm not. I do love her and I was going to ask her to be my girlfriend." Matt said as he got up off the couch, "I need to go talk to her."

"She's upset, dude. Be careful what you say." Greg warned.

"If she's sexy when she's upset, I wonder what she's like when she's really really mad." Matt joked.

"Be serious Matt. Don't joke around." Greg said.

"He can't be serious. He's a punk." a sweet, angelic voice said. The teenage girl walked into the living room and laid down on the couch. "Even though he was an ass to me, somehow I manage to still love him."

"Are you pissed off at me?" Matt asked kneeling next to her.

"Well, I believed you when you told me that you would never lie to me," she began, "so no I'm not mad at you. I just...I'm a drama queen. Sometimes I get carried away and overreact."

"You seemed upset earlier. You said to just forget everything and to leave." Matt frowned. "Did you really mean what you said?"

"When?" she asked.

"When you said that I should forget you and everything you told me."

"Matt, you need to understand something." she began.

"I need to understand you." Matt said.

"And that I can be a bitch." she added.

"Nah. You're not a bitch." he assured her. "You're just an emotional chic."

"A very emotional chic." she corrected. "How can you put up with me?"

"The same way Nick puts up with Jessica...he loves her." Matt said sincerely.

"You're talking about Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson right?" she asked out loud. She looked away from him and said, "And you have to understand that I can be ditzy and dumb just like Jessica."

"She's not dumb. She just doesn't think before she says it." Matt tried to quote what Nick said about Jessica on Driven, the show on VH1.

"I heard that on VH1." Lori told him.

"Yeah." He smiled at her and put his hand on her cheek. "It's OK to be yourself around me, Lorr. Don't pretend to be somebody you're not."

She smiled at him and said, "I love you Matt."

"I need to tell you something Matty B." she began.

"Uh-oh. This doesn't sound good."

"I have to be honest with you about something......" her voice trailed off for a couple seconds then she said, "I haven't kissed anyone before. You're the first guy I've kissed."

"Really?"

"Yeah. I haven't had a lot of experience..." she frowned. "My personal life sucks."

"Maybe you were just waiting for the RIGHT guy to come along." he said.

"I think I was, but I think I might have found him."

"Who is he? That Dan guy?"

"Do you guys wanna listen to music?" a bored and tired Greg asked.

"You know I do. I love listening to music." Lori smiled.

"I know you do. You just come out and say random words to a song." Matt said looking at her.

"I can't help it. Some songs describe exactly what I'm going through or what I feel for a specific someone. I know it gets annoying, but I'm on cloud 9 right now and I just don't wanna come down." she said sweetly.
