CHAPTER 13: With All My Heart
Lori looked at him in complete shock and didn't know what to say. He squeezed her hand and she squeezed his hand back and she got closer to him. She wrapped her arms around him and he slowly put his arms around her and held her close. Then they separated when they heard Greg's voice.
"Are you two going out yet?" Greg whined.
"So, um, who's turn is it?" Matt asked changing the subject, gripping Lori's hand in his.
"I haven't started bowling yet. These girls asked me for my autographs but they left. I've been sitting over there watching you two go at it." Greg admitted.
"You've been watching us this whole time?" Lori asked in complete shock.
"Chill cutie. It's not like I watched you two play tonsil hockey." Greg joked.
"Like that will ever happen." Lori rolled her eyes. And it's gonna take me a while before I even let Matt in the door and give my heart to him. He might even just be playing with my emotions. That Chris poser did, but then again, this is the real Matt. It's not some creep behind a screen name online in a chat room looking for little girls to sexually assault. Ugh! I can't believe I was that stupid, she thought.
"Lorr, are you OK?" Matt asked worriedly when he saw the expression on her face. He waved his hand in front of her face when she didn't respond and she blinked a couple of times. "Are you OK babe?" he repeated.
"I'm just..thinking." she spat out, sounding extremely dazed. "Thinking about everything. School. Friends I don't even have. Guys. Family." She sounded like she was high even though she wasn't. She was in her dreamworld.
"Did you guys get high or something?" Greg asked eyeing them. He looked at Matt, who was staring at Lori with an adoring look, back at Lori and just kept going back and forth, hoping one of them would answer.
"No. We didn't get high. She's just....I dunno. Lost in thought." Matt shrugged. "I wish I knew what she was thinking about."
"She told you what she was thinking about. She was thinking about everything...school, friends she doesn't even have, which I don't understand, then guys and her family." Greg said.
"I wonder what guys she's thinking about. She could be thinking about Dan, Scott, Chris, you or me. Maybe she's thinking about Jesse." Matt said.
Lori came out of her daze when she heard what Matt said and then told him, "I was thinking about you."
"Oooh. Somebody has a crush." Greg teased his friend.
"Lorr, you have a friend." Matt said looking at her, ignoring Greg's stupid comment.
"Yeah...myself." she said sarcastically. She rolled her eyes. "What a great friend to have. She spends most of her time bitching and whining about what she doesn't have."
"Lorr, I mean, I'm your friend, even though I want to be more." he said getting close to her so she could only hear the last part. He backed away and she looked at him in amazement. He knew she was in complete shock by the expression on her face, but he knew he had to be honest with her.
"Should I leave you two alone and go sit in my Lexus?" Greg asked looking at them. The way Lori and Matt were looking at each other was freaking him out. "Or do you guys just want to leave?"
"You and Matt wanted to go bowling. I don't wanna ruin it for you guys." Lori said backing away from Matt. She walked a couple feet away from him and looked at Greg. "We can go bowling Greg if you still want to."
Matt reached for her hand and when he felt her loving touch a sudden rush of excitement and happiness ran throughout his body. He started whispering, "Late at night, awake and alone

When he was done singing the song to her she looked over at him and before she knew it he was gently kissing her on the lips. Then he backed away and Greg said, "OK. You two are definitely in love."
"WE JUST MET TODAY! HOW CAN WE BE IN LOVE ALREADY?" Lori practically shouted.
Matt looked at her then at Greg and again at Lori. The expression on her face indicated that she was about to pounce on Greg which made him hold her back. She looked back at him and said, "You can let me go now."
"So you're not gonna pounce on him?" Matt double-checked.
"I need a coffee. Maybe it will put me to sleep." Lori said getting out of his embrace. She walked away and went over to the counter and ordered a french vanilla cappuchino. "He can't love me. I can't love him. We can't love each other. We've only known each other for 2 hours, 55 minutes and 29 seconds." she thought out loud. "Why would he love me anyway? I'm not exactly his dream girl."
She turned around with her french vanilla cappuchino in her hand and said, "He's not supposed to be telling me all that. He's not supposed to have this effect on me. He's not supposed to be saying those sweet things to me." And then when she saw Matt standing there she got a scared feeling in the pit of her stomach as soon as she saw the look on his face. "H--Hey Matt." she choked out.
"It's been 2 hours, 55 minutes and 33 seconds." Matt said with a smile. "And how do you know you're not my dream girl? You could be and you don't even know it."
"I'm gonna wake up any minute now and be in my bed in my bedroom." Lori said shaking her head. "I'm gonna wake up from this dream." she declared as she walked away. She took a tiny sip of her cappuchino and felt somebody take her other hand.
"Lorr, I know you're a dreamer so why can't you believe that one of your dreams might be coming true?" Matt asked as soon as she turned around to face him.
"Because I can't." she simply stated.
"But why? I don't understand why you're scared all of a sudden."
"I just....I'm in shock. I mean, I've dreamt about being with you and the fact that it's actually happening is just scaring me. I didn't think it could come true."
"Well, I didn't think I could fall in love with a girl in 3 hours, 2 minutes and 1 second." Matt told her. "And I'm scared. I wasn't prepared for this and I just know that I can't push you away. I need to hold onto what I found."
