reading, taking pictures of my pets, roadtrips, making arts and crafts

7. How did you get the bunny bug?
hmm, husband Jon and I were trying to decide on a pet for our apartment. I didn't want to get another cat because I go home often to my parents' house in Greenville to see my 18 year old cat, Brighty. And we definitely didn't want a dog. So a rabbit was a good option...quiet, small, soft, cuddly, littertrained.

BENNETT

1. What is your bunny's breed?
black and white mini lop buck

2. How old is your bun(s)?
2 years old, born on January 11, 2003

3. When and How did you acquire your bun? adopt?
we got Bennett in April 2003 from a breeder recommended to us by our bunny vet. (Bennett is named for his breeder). It took us a long time to drive out to the breeder's and we weren't even planning to get a bunny that day. By the time we got there it was dark. And we got lost on the way home. But I couldn't have left without Bennett. As soon as I picked him up and started petting him, he closed his eyes and purred.

4. Name 3 things that your bun does to make you smile.
Jumps on my lap and snuggles up for comfort and security; gives me tons of kisses; binkys in the morning when I need a little wake-me-up and a smile to start the day, snuggles with his girl, Fiona,

5. What is your bun(s) favorite food?
anything I happen to be eating at the time, hehe! but mainly he loves fruit (bananas, apples, grapes, pears, and pineapple), oatmeal and parsley

6. What is your bun(s) favorite toy?
a set of colorful plastic keys (baby toy) and his cardboard condo

Fiona

1. What is your bunny's breed?
silver martin doe

2. How old is your bun(s)?
about 2 years old (estimated birthday in August)

3. When and How did you acquire your bun? adopt?
I met her in Ohio in August 2004 during the first LL Gathering, when Angie was picking up Finn. Finn and Fiona are sisters and share the same genetic deformity that twists the hind leg. Fiona, however, has not had an amputation; she gets along great even with her twisted leg. The only thing she can't do is scratch her ear. Fiona and Bennett met in Ohio in December 2004 (during a mini LL Gathering) and then bonded during a 7 hour car ride home from Virginia about a week later.

4. Name 3 things that your bun does to make you smile.
Just three?? Well, she races through the kitchen on the linoleum floor to the den for breakfast, does incredible binkies 3 1/2 legged binkies, smushes her face under Bennett's chest to snuggle and for security, kisses me, and makes wookie noises when we snuggle on the sofa together at night. Oops, more than three...HA!

romaine hearts, bananas, and papaya tablets

6. What is your bun(s) favorite toy?
a phonebook and anything cardboard
