Dear Sergeant Valdez:

Congratulations on organizing a very successful recognition ceremony for the Filipino-American World War II veterans on 10 May 2001. Your hard work and perseverance were truly appreciated by the many who attended the event.

The surviving veterans who attended with their families displayed their pride and humility on that day. You succeeded in bringing together what has been due to them for a long while - honor, recognition and awareness of their wartime contributions. Well done!

Thank you for inviting me to the ceremony. I wish you continued success in this annual event.

Sincerely,

Antonio M. Taguba
