And here it is finally, the vacation timeline...
In order from least recent to most...
December 12: Had written part of episode 57.
December 13: I copied the story to disk and transferred it to mumsy and dadsy's computer. I wrote part 3 of 56, finished ep 57 and wrote 58.
Decemeber 14: I wrote nothing. Today was like a sabbath for the muses.
December 15: wrote 59. I've been writing beaucoup story later on, again nothing matches up chronologically just yet. I keep pulling bits when they link up and as of right now have a never ending supply of possibilities.
December 16: wrote episodes 60-65
December 17: wrote episodes 66 + 67
December 18: Happy Two Towers Day. Wrote episodes 68 + 69, also part one of 70.
December 19: Worked on episode 70 + 71.
December 20: 72
December 21: started 73, wrote tons of story after the fact, but it doesn't link again. I have a few options, none of which I'm particularly attached to yet. Sigh.
December 22: finished 73. Wrote 74, started 75. Wondering when I'll be able to get back online to post all of this (it's going to take about, oh, I'd say FOREVER).
December 23: Rather than writing I read today. I'm working on Witch Child by Celia Rees. Very interesting. When I finish this one I'm going to pick up an old favorite called the River King by Alice Hoffman.
December 24: It's Christmas Eve and I have a doctor's appointment. Ah yes, the joys of swimmer's ear. Finished 75. I think it's one of my better episodes (tied for first place with 64).
December 25: Possibly the most traumatic christmas ever. Blah.
December 26: After the most traumatic christmas ever I wrote a little bit more at the end of the story. I have some things that are hooking up shortly, but I don't have the right bungee cords to hold them together yet. My muses need a vacation just as much as I do.
December 27: Going through and changing some very minor deatils pertaining to the relationship of Harry and Gwen. My sister pointed out to me that this particular plot point is rather contrite. I agree, so I'm altering it. This means that the original ending to episode 72 has been scraped and re-written. I'm not even going to save it because I don't want to go there. I added a little touch to 73 that I'd been meaning to do. Started and finished 76 + 77. Changed everything that I've been working on after the part where the story stops connecting. I also burned a really awesome Tori Amos compilation disc for myself.
December 28: Wrote 78.
December 29: Started 79. This story is getting so long. Some possibilities that I had are no longer possibilities because of the minor changes I've made to the tale. I haven't posted anything since I left school, so I've had the ability to really get down in the guts of everything I've written since and tinker with it until I really like it.
December 30: Wrote some stuff. The muses told me to do it.
Decemember 31: Happy New Year's Eve. I went to see Lord of the Rings: Two Towers for the second time and then I ate dinner at Applebees with Chris, Jim and Lennaire. We watched the ball drop and fell asleep half an hour later. All and all, not a bad night.
January 1 + 2: Didn't write jack shit. I was in the North, playing video games and watching anime.
January 3: Wrote episode 78 part 2 and backtracked a bit and wrote episode 71 part 2 (the original part 2 is now part 3).
January 4: Wrote episode 80.
January 5: Wrote episode 81.
January 6: Wrote some stuff that I'm going to use later.
January 7 + 8: Posted most of the story on geocities, but I didn't have all the stuff with me, so I posted later stuff that I'll put links up to once I get the earlier stuff posted.
January 9: Returned home. Started episode 82. Finally back on the computer, no more handwritten scraps to sort through.
January 10: Continued work on 82. Started 83.
January 11: I finished 83, started and finished 84 and I've been writing later episodes like crazy. The thing is because of the direction the story is taking I can't use some of the stuff I wanted to originally. Which is ok, I wasn't really attatched to some of it. I might end up writing the story with the two divergent story lines, post the one I like better and keep the other for posterity. But that's alot more work and I'm a lazy git.
January 12: Didn't do anything really. I spent some of the day with Moon and I had inspiration to work on other stories which are trapped on my computer upstairs. Bitch kitty...
January 13: Worked a bit on 85. Still debating where I'm going to take the story. I have a ton of new and even more devlish ideas, but do I really want to do those evil soap-opera things to J.K.'s characters... Yes, yes I do. I'm working out some kinks (hehehe) and I'm trying to get the timeline just right.
January 14: The muses are sort of taking a vacation. As Moon said, you can't force it, you just have to wait for the flow. Especially those little bits that don't connect, aren't chronological. Those are a bitch. You can tell where I forced it, it's somewhat mediocre writing.
January 15: I worked on one of my other stories. I didn't write much, but what I did write really made a difference. I think with a little more time to mellow this one might even be publish worthy.
January 16: Becky and I found out that the 5th book is being released
June 21st. She's going to take the day off from work (now that's love). I'm realizing slowly myself that this little ficcy of mine has a kind of scope and range. The ideas I want to play with take place far later after Hogwarts and the story is becoming this gargantuan thing, more like a chronicle of someone's life (and it's mostly about my own character Gwen, what kind of fanfiction writer am I?). Of course, I'm going to finish it, it just might take a few years. Hahaha. Ok, what was episode 85 was bumped back to 86. It's cool dog, it's all good. And on another note: sometimes, forcing it isn't a bad thing. Some of the stuff I forced the other day turned out to be useable in another context. Three deleted lines, a few added and it flowed like honey. Thank you muses.
January 17: Finished episode 86 finally.
January 18: Wrote some more stuff later in the story, though I'm really not sure if I'm going to use it or not. Some of it is pretty far out there and what's not out there is very soap opera. I'm not sure I want to degrade to that level of melodrama just yet.
January 19 + 20: I bought Kingdom Hearts for myself and have been playing and watching the bro and sis play alternatingly. So therefore I haven't written, but I've given the muses a well deserved break.
January 21: Feeling really guilty that I haven't been writing and I haven't posted anything on the web in close to two weeks. I've got to get my shit together.
January 22-27: I haven't written in forever. The story has sort have fallen to the wayside. Damn that Kingdom Hearts. *Shaking fist in mock anger*
February 3: I actually sat down and wrote some stuff and I figured out the whole answer to the father question, but when I'll actually get to that I'm unsure.
February 6: Started writing chronologically again (or at least somewhat). So I worked on episodes 87-89.
April 30: Lots of time has passed and my writing totally dried up. I added a funny episode with Snape and Gwen in the classroom and snuck it in right after episode 22 (it is so far dubbed 22 + a half) and I've been slowly working from episode 89 on, but it's not flowing right now. Damn Adult Swim is really distracting (Inuyasha, Trigun and Cowboy Bebop have recieved my full attention and the shows are really my only reason for staying up late (other than I'm nocturnal)). Happily I'm going to an anime convention with Pete, Sarah, Heidi and Becky May 10 and 11 so maybe I'll come back with tons of ideas. Or maybe not... X 2 opens in 2 days!!!
P.S.- I let the harrypotter.com ficcy fall by the wayside. I didn't have enough computer access or time to maintain it and as I haven't written in forever there wasn't much point. When I do have regular access again I will repost the story, but slowly and probably not until after I've finished it.
May 4: I had a breakthrough on Thursday. I got to put some material I was saving for later into the story at an earlier point (so I moved some stuff around in ep. 77 + 78). So far, it's good and it might stimulate some quicker movement in this final act.
May 21: How time flies. We're up to episode 94. I've been working diligently for the past few days, arranging titles for each episode (which I have to check against my website eventually, but I'm in no hurry). The crescendo is building to a deafening peak. The denouement is going to be really interesting. I'm aiming to get rid of the dead weight that has just been sitting at the end of the story for months. It's raw snippets of material that I was hoping I could fit it, but I think not, so I've been working to sort it into a more coherent and chronological order so that I can delete what I don't need and won't use. I wrote about 3 pages today, but after all the deleting the page number hasn't moved an inch (this I think, is a good thing). The mystery of Gwen's father became very clear to me this morning, oh muses you are blessed. Now I just have to figure out how to get from here to there in words and sentences that make sense.
P.S.- I believe the ending will be in epilogue format (about 11 years down the road) and the drama that I had planned for Hermione, Harry and Ron is going to be a side episode tacked up after the epilogue, like a "this could of happened, but because I thought it was just too weird I didn't put it in the story, but it was just too good to throw away at the same time" type thing.
May 27: We are at episode 103. Things are swimming along. The truth about Gwen's dad is mostly written, but not hooked up yet. First she has to have a run in with Dark Lord. Yummy!!!
End of Vacation timeline.
