CU THEN AND NOW
by agl
Love your comment about inviting some "old timers", (55 and regressing), to write about CU changes.
Gee, being an egotist, (as most men are), no problem......lol
I do want to venture a few thoughts. There are many positives from CU. Certainly the friendship that some
develop over time is wonderful. Enjoyment of daily chats and feeling emotions with those friends both good
and bad, happy and sad is a good thing. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have friends who listen, but on
CU, the opportunity is there.
As sites grow, the inevitable happens. I never label anyone as "undesirable", but there are those
crass, uncaring, all-for-me, that come and go constantly. Hey, it's part of growth, ref monitors control as much
as possible and do a good job, they should be commended. (just as long as they don't get over aggressive)
Now the adult side on CU is the nuts and bolts (no puns intended here, heheheh) of why most people come on line.
Yes, I will confess, love the "adult side" of CU..:)) You know, we have made many friends on CU,
unfortunately, some no longer visit video sites. We are still in contact, for that I should say thank you. Recently
I asked one of my closest couple friends why they no longer came on line. Their response was, they miss it,
but felt it had become very "commercial" and most of the "players" were paid entertainment. These people I am
referring to were regulars, both very attractive and very much into having adult fun. I think their point was twofold,
one they were getting pressured by those who were rude and taking way too many liberties with requests, and
the loss of "amateur", "real", couple next door types. They also mentioned of being asked by e-mail to become
"paid" members of site, that I cannot say anything about? As large as the sites are becoming, perhaps we must take
what is offered and you must do what is necessary to increase membership. But their point
was made and I am passing it along.
As for requests of what's to come, I am ecstatic with the thought of sound......now as a true voyeur, sound will
just push that button you know......
One last thought.....everyone is constantly asking what is the best pc, camera, equipment, hardware etc. Now I know
you can go to CU web site and read but most people are lazy and really don't understand computer language and terms.
Perhaps someone can put a package together which includes names, sizes, types and hardware needed to build a new system......anddddddd
somehow build, ship and receive the profits. Sound far fetched? Don't think so, most
out there are novices and need support. Not everyone is on cable. Lots of freezing, video freezing etc., think you
could create the pc and sell upgrades in CD form as you grow. Hummmmm sounds like work......one
of those four letter words.
As an employer of over 100, we encounter many obstacles. Whatever our goals may be, we must never stop
creating or dreaming of what can be. So I encourage you to continue and maybe when your sitting next to that
fellow who owns Microsoft...hahaha, you will remember us "old timers"...hahah
