This is not a definitive list of all of DD's videos here, just the ones that I really had something to say about other than, "It was...good...and stuff". These are my opinions and do not represent those of anyone else I'm affiliated with other than perhaps my cat, who agrees with me on all issues...

RIO

I love and hate Rio at the same time, to be perfectly honest. It's nauseatingly cheezy and sums up the 80's in 3 minutes or so...but at the same time it's a lot of fun. I love John's little soldier fantasy...he looks so confused, poor guy... It's priceless, absolutely priceless. Nick on the other hand looks seasick (which I'm sure he was) and that magenta and turquoise outfit he had on isn't exactly fashionable...but it was the 80's and no one knew what they were doing since they were all on drugs, so I can't hold it against him...=)

PLANET EARTH

One of my absolute favourite DD videos of all time. It's cheezy, it's campy and it looks like it was made in someone's garage...and Nick looks kind of freaky with that mushroom cloud he calls his hair, but that's what makes it so great. Between the bad special effects and even worse dancing, I have to love this one. And Simon was actually quite cute in this one (shh, don't tell anyone I said so). His chubby cheeks and stupid outfit are adorable...aww... I'm a sucker for Simon when he was around 23 or so, and it's the chubby cheeks that does it.

LONELY IN YOUR NIGHTMARE

I'm a big fan of the black and white thing, and it went especially well with this song. Kind of reminds me of the Wizard of Oz though with the switch between black and white and colour...but who am I to complain? Simon looks like a stalker in this video where he's standing in the girl's bedroom while she's sleeping...he seems to do that a lot and it scares me...=) I can never watch this video with a straight face though because whenever it gets to the point where Simon picks up the pile of Polaroids and blows off the dust, I have to think of a big pile of cocaine...come on, you know that's what it looks like...as my ex-roommate Miranda once said, "Uh oh, looks like John's been there!" I'm going to shut up before I libel myself again now...

MY OWN WAY

This is one of my least favourite videos. The colours are nice; I'm a big fan of black, white and red together, but it was just way too much. Too much stupid dancing, too much red lipstick, too much overacting. The best part of the video (in my humble opinion) is when the parrot sitting on Nick's keyboard attacks him...now that's entertainment!

HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF

There was a time when I loved this video, but I was about 4 at the time...young and stupid... It's been overplayed on MTV (back when they still actually played music videos) over the years. Even the best of videos can get old when they're played once every 5 minutes. One of my favourite parts though is where everyone's looking for Simon and John's interrogating the little boy in the street, that was rather creepy...but in a good way, I guess...=)

NIGHTBOAT

Undoubtedly one of my favourites. The whole acting thing is too good to pass up. Simon's so full of himself, but I love him for it all the same. John's horror movie scream ranks in my list of favourite video moments.

GIRLS ON FILM

Never been fond of this video, partially because I have no desire to watch a bunch of naked women wrestling in the mud. Frankly, I don't even want to see the one mostly naked man in the video either, he gives me the creeps for some unknown reason. I usually just skip this video when I'm watching them, but to each his own, I suppose.

SAVE A PRAYER

A beautiful video altogether...except for Simon's unfortunate hillbilly outfit in the beginning, which leaves something to be desired (at least for me). A bit homoerotic, but in my opinion that just makes it all the better! Bring on the slash fic!

THE CHAUFFEUR

Not sure if I like this video or not. Very artsy and dramatic, I like that, but I don't get the whole plotline if there is one here at all (PWP isn't always bad though, as we fan fic fans can attest to...). Perhaps if I understood it a bit more, I would finally be able to decide if I like it or hate it.

IS THERE SOMETHING I SHOULD KNOW?

Another video that I love and hate at the same time. I like it mostly because of all the humour I've managed to get from it throughout the years...such as the part where Nick's standing behind John and since he's so much shorter, all you can see if a little orange puff of hair...affectionately referred to as the "orange chia pet on John's shoulder" by Miranda.

UNION OF THE SNAKE

Can't bring myself to like this one too much, it's a little too out there for me. I prefer Wild Boys over this one any day, maybe if I liked the song a little more I might like the video more too. I can sit through Careless Memories even though I don't particularly care for it, simply because I like the song, so it's possible.

NEW MOON ON MONDAY

Another of my favourites, if not only for the rong and the general coolness of the video itself (and a recognizable plotline) then for the humourous aspects of it like the fact that the soldiers appear to be carrying lightsabers for some reason and the part where John and Nick are coming into the cafe...hard to explain but they look like they're trying to act really nonchalant, which has led to many interpretations over the years, some more printable than others...

THE REFLEX

Can't stand this video, it was impressive at the time it was made, but now it just seems cheezy. The whole thing smacks of being put together and Nick doesn't seem to want to be there, and I don't blame him...poor guy having to sit there in that stupid video wearing that ugly sweater with those stupid shoulder pads that make him look like a football player...

THE WILD BOYS

Awesome video, another of my favourites. Interesting subject matter considering the book the video and song were based on is about what I like to refer to as a "gay version of the Lost Boys"...you've gotta love William Burroughs... The special effects in this one are really quite cool even to this day with the exception of the sock puppet...er, "monster" that Simon fights...

A VIEW TO A KILL

Campy, much like the old Batman series with Adam West, which earns it a thumbs up in my book. I like the 80's cheeziness of this one, it's almost a parody of itself which is what makes it so much fun. That and Nick's wonderful acting job...*ahem*.

NOTORIOUS

Another video I like, it's simple and in black and white, both of which are merits if you ask me. I could have done with a bit less of Simon's dancing though...usually it's amusing, but here it's just annoying. Other than that complaint though, I really enjoy watching this one.

SKIN TRADE

This video looks like one of those Japanese cartons that give people seizures...all the flashing colours and bad animation... Nick looks rather cute in this one, though, I'm pleased to say. I kind of like that drag queen-type head scarf he has going.

I DON'T WANT YOUR LOVE

This video scares me. I refuse to even watch it as it gives me nightmares. Simon doesn't blink more than once during the entire video and generally looks like a deer caught in the headlights, John is disturbingly skinny and Nick looks freaky with that bad haircut and no makeup. Bad show, boys, please don't ever do it again.

ALL SHE WANTS IS

I think this may be some sort of post-modern nightmare (weird for the sake of weird). What in the hell is going on in this video?! Between all the day-glo clothes, the creepy wax dummies, Simon's huge hair and the crucified Jesus flying out of the fridge, I don't know what in the hell is going on here, but I know it's different...very different...

DO YOU BELIEVE IN SHAME

Other than the fact that Nick's makeup leaves something to be desired, I like this video. Rather artsy, which is something I like, as mentioned before. Not sure what's going on in a lot of it, but it looked good and that's what matters.

BURNING THE GROUND

I hate this video. Let us never speak of it again.

SERIOUS

Nice enough video, I like the black and white. Don't care for all the Liberty props and Nick looks kind of stupid smacking on that gum he's chewing the entire video, but on the whole it's a fairly good video and one that I watch pretty often.

ORDINARY WORLD

Don't like the video too much, but I love the song. The video has its moments, but they're few and far between and mostly the result of me finding something to laugh at, such as the bride's gargantuan bow and her hat that looks like a lampshade.

COME UNDONE

Love this video. The videography was great, everyone (even Warren) looked good and it's a fun song to boot. Bravo!

TOO MUCH INFORMATION

Creepy, definitely creepy. Simon's shirtless scenes leave something to be desired for me...it's really a rather disturbing picture. Nick looks adorable with that purple hair, but someone needs to tell John not to wear pants that match his hair colour...it makes him look like Ronald McDonald.

WHITE LINES

Awesome video. I love everything about this one, especially John's little spastic dance moves. I get far too many laughs at his expense. The song kind of grows on you like a fungus too, unlike 911 Is A Joke...

PERFECT DAY

Nice to see Roger back, even if he's only in the background most of the time. Lovely video, very artistic and slow...fits the song perfectly. God bless you, Lou Reed!

OUT OF MY MIND

By far and away another of my favourites. The videography is awesome and so are the effects. Plus you get to see Nick in a dress in makeup, which is stranger to see than one might imagine. Lovely purples and blues, extremely well put together.
