| One of the largest operations for codebreaking during World War Two was called Bletchley Park. This was a gathering of "geniuses" in a huge mansion in the countryside of england. These geniuses lived in the mansion and worked together to crack the codes they were constantly recieving. To go on a virtual tour of Bletchley Park, click HERE. Bletchley park was a large mansion meant to hold all codebreaking attempts. In the mansion was room for codebreaking from each section of the armed forces. A large gate surrounded the mansion, with a sentry-box to check in, and a bird lodge at the top. It was located out in the country and away from cities, therefore unknown to Hitler.It even had its own radio broadcasting tower, codenamed Station X. At the mansion, the codebreakers worked on deciphering codes from all countries at war. enigma, and even some of the magic codebreaking took plce inside its gatesa. The huts were codenamed by nuber, only referenced to by number when speaking about a particular hut. |
