I, MYSELF
I have been the eyes of the blind,
I have been a tree in the forest,
I have been a ray in a sea of light
Never ending.
I have been peace and war,
I have been the sword and the plow.
I have been life and death
Never ending.
I have been a body in the masses,
I have been a drop in the sea.
I have been a pebble in the road
Never ending.
I have been a tear in the air,
I have been the dullest of stars.
I have been the brightest of days
Never ending.
I have been the book in the origin,
I have been the light of lanterns.
I have been a continuing bridge
Never ending.
I have been a guest at the banquet,
I have been a drop in a shower.
I have been the song of a harp
Never ending.
I have been the song of the bards,
I have been the voice on the breeze.
A familiar image in a sea of faces
Never ending.
To see with my ears
To hear with my eyes.
To hide in the open,
To be found in my lair.
To be on a journey of discovery
Never ending.
I have been a shield borne in war,
I have been a sword raised in anger.
I have been the flower trampled by the hate
Never ending.
I have been a cat, an eagle
I have been land and sea
I have been the runner of great news,
And the harbinger of Death.
I have been the glimmer of hope
Never ending.
To some I am a witch,
To others a fey.
But to myself,
I am merely a string in the great harp,
Disguised.
