Once your stone has been chosen and cleansed you can now empower it with what you intend to use it for. Those of you who have done this before may not need this, but for those of you who are new to the craft, I thought I should add this to the site. Hold the stone in your power hand. (This is the hand you usually use the most.) Think about the spell you are planning to do and what it is that you want the stone to represent as stones will have more than one magickal properties. Hold the stone while you loose yourself in your thoughts and feelings on the subject. As you do this,, allow those thoughts to carry down your arm like a brilliant white light and flow into the heart of the stone itself. You will want to use not only your mind but every emotion you have within you. Magick is using your heart and your mind in connection with nature and a higher power. A chant or even a low hum can also rise this power to a greater height. Spend at "least" a half hour each day doing this for three days. The longer you empower a stone with your intent the better it will work for you. The craft is knowing when to listen to your inner self. Continue to empower the stone until you feel within your self that the stone has absorbed your thoughts and is connected to the purpose in which you want to use it for. Once you have empowered your stone, wrap it in a 100% all cotton black cloth and put it away until you plan to use it.
Full Moon Empowering.
Some Witches, like to empower stones by the full moon. Follow the instructions above for this except, feel the rays of the moon flowing into you and mixing with your thoughts and emotions and allow that same light to flow through your arm and down to your hand into the stone. Then once you have done this, allow the stone to sit undisturbed in the full moon's rays. If you choose to use this way of empowering your stone you must remember to bring the stone inside "before" the first morning light. And again, once empowered, wrap the stone in a black cloth and put it away until you plan to use it. Blessed Be.
Empowering with other Elements
Depending on the type of stone, and the ritual you plan to use it for you can follow the same thing as above but using a different element. You still have to draw that energy into the stone, and put it away until you can charge it again with the same type of energies. It just really depends on what you are going to use it for; and if the stone is compatable with that source. |
