Lady Synesthesia's AFI Tribute Page

         Here goes yet another attempt of mine to make a quasi-respectable website using Geocities. I can't do HTML or anything like that, so I guess I'll just have to make due with what I have. I just started making this site about an hour and a half ago, and so far it's looking...Well, not as shitty as it could look.

          The whole purpose of this site is to not only promote AFI, but to celebrate and hail them for all the wonderful things they've done for their fans. For over a decade they have been playing to crowds, but only recently have they been receiving the recognition they have deserved for so long. Now they are gracing the pages of Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, and Spin Magazine, to name a few. Hell, just last week I spotted them in YM for Christ's sake...

          Both methodic and melodic, AFI is an all-around perfect band. Meaningful lyrics, enthusiastic beats, and a lead singer who has the voice of a punk-rock angel. And, for most fans, the men of A Fire Inside aren't bad to look at by any means.

       These guys have morals, an ass-load of talent, and they're going places. AFI is here to stay. = )

	11/03/03 Many moons have passed since I've updated this site, but I decided it was way over due. Just two nights ago, on Saturday, I saw the best performance by the best band, ever. AFI played at the Rimac Arena on the UCSD campus in La Jolla with Death by Stereo and Blood Brothers. It was great. The first two bands were good, although close-minded assholes found it necessary to throw things onto the stage during the Blood Brothers performance. When AFI came on, everyone went apeshit. I linked arms with my younger brother, because I knew that if I lost him, I'd go crazy. Everyone was getting pushed around, people were falling left and right, and circle pits formed everywhere. It was fuckin' awesome. I live for that shit. The thing I love about AFI fans is that we're all so close-knit. If you fall at a Dropkick Murphys show, you're fucked. I learned that the hard way. If you fall at an AFI show, people will form a circle around you and make sure you don't get stomped on. Yeah, there were a few assholes who crowd-surfed (I hate that), but other than that the show was awesome. I got elbowed, kicked, and kneed in the face, but the adrenaline flowing throughout my body kept me from feeling any pain I might have experienced otherwise. If you haven't seen AFI, you need to. They're absolutely amazing, and it certainly won't be the last time I see them live.
