Rainy Day Meditation

Sit in a comfortable position near an open window or screen door where you can hear the rain outside and draw on its energy. Try to make it somewhere no other noises, like traffic, etc. will interfere. Close your eyes, breathe deeply and focus on the sound of the rain. To me, rain is soothing, peaceful. Let the rhythm relax your body, every muscle, your mind. Let the rain cleanse your mind of any frustration, sadness, tension that may be building up inside. Like the roots of plants soak up water, soak up the soothing energy and let it refresh your spirit, your soul.
Chant the following or something similar aloud or quietly to yourself:
Mother Earth's
Healing rain
sooth my soul
heal my pain
Continue to repeat it until you feel completely open to the energy of the falling rain.
