Stand outside where you can see the sun rising on the horizon, where you can see the soft glow of light break through the darkness. As the sun rises, feel its rays begin to warm the Earth. Feel it warm your face, your shoulders. Let go of any darkness (frustration, anger, etc.) bottled up inside. Watch nature come to life around you. Let yourself come to life with it, renewed and ready to face the day ahead.
Father Sky, God of light,
who loves Mother Earth with a gentle smile
and kisses the soil with shimmering beams,
who sires all life, both man and beast,
and unfolds new blooms on roses
and all flowers with golden rays,
who rides across the heavens,
round and full, without fail,
through clouds or blue sky,
like a true father,
dependable, strong,
warming the heart,
melting away bitterness
and bringing light into my life
until the stars dance overhead
and the crickets sing outside.
Always remember, every day is a new day. That alone is a great reason to embrace it with hope and joy.
