Cerridwen Divination Spell

by Lady of the Shadows

This can be fun and enlightening at the same time.  It really works.

This spell is best performed on a Full Moon for divination, but can be done at other times because Cerridwen is associated with Waning Moon Rituals.

According to lore, her cauldron of knowledge contains the answers to many secrets, even to the secret of life itself.  Although she embodies all three aspects, Maiden, Mother and Crone, she is most frequently worshipped as a Crone Goddess.

Take your cauldron and fill it half way with cold water or use snow and let it melt (see Winter Magick).   If you don't have a cauldron, you can use a regular pot, just consecrate it first by touching a pentagram.

Take one white candle, bless it and inscribe on it Cerridwen's name.  Light it and say:

Cerridwen,

Old and Wise,

help me see now

through your eyes.

Let the candle burn for a minute or so.  Either imagine what you would like to ask Cerridwen or ask your question aloud.  Pick the candle up and let the wax gently drip into the cauldron.  The wax will harden into little droplets when it hits the cold water.  Keep the candle over the cauldron for a few minutes until you have enough wax floating around.  Put the candle to the side and look over the cauldron.  You will receive messages in pictures.  Also wait until the water stops moving and look at it again.  Cerridwen may have more than one message for you.

The pictures you get will only have significance to you.  You must be open-minded to see them, and you may not always like what she reveals.
