For one long year,
you fought for us.
We missed you here,
for scary things we did fear.
Now you'll be home again,
along with lost of other women and men,
who fought for us in that war,
now you'll be here we fear no more.
You knew we were scared.
I hope you knew we cared.
We all cried then.
And we're waiting for you to come home again.
You missed birthdays, parties, and the new year.
Watching the news the worst we'd fear.
We're missing you now, we missed you then,
and we can't wait till you're home again.
