The sky filled with familiar purple light,
My brother and his new friend took flight.
They were beneath the cube when it landed,
Alone in the Game, they were stranded.
I already lost a loved one, so I WONT lose another,
He is strong and resourceful, for he is my brother.
And so I wait for the inevitable end,
When he still stands as the cube decends.
And then he'll come back, safe and snug,
I'll yell at him for leaving, then I'll give him a hug.
"You shouldn't have left me," I will tell him.
"You are all I have left in this little system."
Yes, I'll be fine as soon as he's back,
And we could put out plans back on track.
Then I hear it, as purple fills the background,
"Game Over" the voice of the system sounds.
My heart leaps to my throat, until I hear "The User Wins."
I know then I'll never again see my brother or his friends with the fins.
When I see that the sector is burnt to a crisp,
The smoke seeps in the air in a whisp,
I call out his name and scream out my rage,
As my existance continues, but my soul's locked in a cage.
